Hi, this came from a forum idea I read in Doomworld: A Rayman themed VS mod.
That sounded really cool and I wanted to play it but there wasn't such a project yet so I started this one.
Also I was a big fan of MMMorshew's Rayman DOOM so I thought the idea had potential.
The gameplay may be a bit familiar to those who played Rayman M/Arena's Lum fight. Various players battle in an arena with weapons to see who scores more.
Maps will be inspired in Rayman 1-3 +M and RRabbids or places in the games.
So what's different in this one?
-Weapon containers are not randomized: They are put strategically, mostly the better ones are put in harder to reach positions and worse ones are put in safer points.
-Bots will have the ability to chat reacting on how the match is going.
It's not done yet but for example a Globox bot entering a battle would text: "I'm a lover not a fighter" or a Murphy bot winning a match would say: "See you in Rayman 4" I would use phrases characters said in the games or asking here phrases that would fit them.
-Game speed: The Doom engine is quite different to Rayman M's, players run much faster not only forces the new maps to accomodate for it also changes the game feel overall.
-Weapons and Ammo: You can hold 4 types of ammo at the same time like in regular doom. At the moment there are 9 weapon types including the fist that is the melee one that doesn't use any ammo. 2 new ones (Powder Keg) and (Rayman's 3 Rocket), 2 from R Arena (Flametoungue) and (Fake generator) which both work very differently from it's counterparts even having a secondary fire type. And 6 others that are also from that game but were rebalanced.
I am also thinking about making new ones like the Lockjaw that will replace DOOM's chainsaw and a magic trident that transforms players into frogs for a period of time like Begoniax in R3.
I plan on making more player skins (Only have Globox's at the moment) which is from Rayman 3 Hoodlum's revenge on the GBA.
I recorded a demo in Zandronum of me playing against bots.
What's on the video?: It is still very early in the project I just made 3 maps, map 1 is based on Rise and Shrine, map 2 is Rayman 2 beach themed and map 3 is based on Razoff's. Music in those maps are placeholders because I am indecisive in what to put there without using Rayman M/M2's OST.

This looks great, some really nice work here!
The maps definitely feel Raymanic, as do the weapons. I've never played Doom myself, and only vaguely remember MMMorshew's mod, but this is defeinitely something I'd like to see more of!

Recently I tested the mod online with a friend after I posted the video and that helped me tweaking some aspects like game balance.
Also I added new weapon sprites and new SFX for some of them.
This one for example shoots the green bomb.
Next map will be based on Rayman 1 most likely Candy Chateau.
Here is a picture of the tests.
Ah, and the other player skins are also intended to be from Rayman 3 Hoodlum's Revenge GBA like Globox's, only thing I ran into some problems when capturing them they were too blurry and I don't know why. Sabertooth 100000 and RaymanFan2000 have ripped sprites from that game before and I would like to know how they did it and which tools they used. Also, did someone else rip any more sprites from that game and could share them?

No way, an Arena themed Doom mod for Rayman? Sign me up! This looks incredible. Love the fact you’re adding Candy Chateau as well. Can’t imagine how chaotic it would feel with the music from the level playing in the background lol!

Oh wow, the Dream Forest in 3D using the aesthetic of the original game! I don't know why this makes me so happy!
Btw, for some reason (probably cookies settings on my end) I couldn't see the images until I right-clicked on them and opened in new tab. I would recommend uploading images as attachments to your post in future

Hi again, sorry for the inactivity. I wanted to post when a few extra things where finished. Things include the new Candy Chateau map, the Rayman skin (That was the hardest part actually) and the character dialogues (When I figured it out it was simpler than I expected)
Firstly, my bad, looks like in the last post I made a mistake when adding the images.
To summarize, the updates since last video are: The map, Rayman skin, Bot chats, weapon updates and a new one (Rayman 1 Boomerang punch).
I Had a lot of fun making up some new phrases because for some characters I didn't have enough quotes to work with specially Ly the fairy, who has to be the funniest one with a lot of random stuff like her hate for the japanese (Because of her botched appearence in Rayman Revolution).
Usually for new quotes I try to add things that are in character for them, some obscure trivia, some community related stuff (Rayman has all of those at the moment)
I'll hold over adding more skins for now until I find a faster way of making them and the project is more advanced, though the next ones probably will be a Hoodlum (Skin for Andre) or Reflux.
On the other hand adding extra quotes doesn't take much time so I will focus on that and making more maps. Next one I have in mind is the Dream forest (R1).
And here are some images I hope I attach them correctly this time.
Lastly will be a new video when I figure out what happened on the last recording of the new map looks blurry.
Looking forward to more feedback and will answer faster this time again, sorry for the inactivity.

Can be played either on an online Zandronum server or Offline against bots.
For setting it up the 3 things will be required: Zandronum (Sourceport), Freedoom Phase 2 / DOOM and the mod itself.

Running it online or offline i a bit different so I'll explain how to.
1.OFFLINE VS BOTS
Get Zandronum and Freedoom/DOOM 2 in the same folder.
Double click on Freedoom/DOOM 2 first so Zandronum can find them
(This will only be needed the very first time, later, you'll be able to directly double clic in any mod/wad you want to play)
Close Freedoom/DOOM 2 after you checked it works.
Double click the mod RaymanDEATHMATCH_V1.0.1_BETA
1.1.Menu
You'll enter the menu, press esc, do this pressing ENTER:
Options-->Multiplayer Options-->Offline skirmish
There change Gamemode to Deathmatch
Bot setup: Choose at the very list 1 bot
Then I'd recommend:
Timelimit: 4 (This is 4 minutes until match ends)
Fraglimit: 20 (It's the point limit, a match ends if a player/bot reaches it)
Level: Map01-06 (These are the custom maps)
At last press "Start game!" with the ENTER key.
You'll now be playing against the bot/s, when a match ends the next map will load automatically. After finishing map 6 the game will loop to map 1.
To close the game press esc.
2.ONLINE
2.1.Inside you Zandronum folder, open Doomseeker
A list of servers will appear
2.2.Search:
Rayman Deathmatch
A server should appear.
2.3.Double click on it.
If it doesn't work you might be using another zandronum version, my current server uses "Alpha: Zandronum 3.2 (230709-1914)", in that case close it, make doomseeker download that version (most likely you'll need to: Options--> Configuration--> Zandronum--> Testing releases, then click that box) and try again, then restart from step 1.
If it loads but says "Protected lump authentication failed." make sure you have the same IWAD (FREEDOOM Phase 2/DOOM2) and mod as the server, if not download them.
If still doesn't work you might need to set up a route for Doomseker in: Options--> Configuration Fig2

Your best bet for playing online is with someone you already know, entering and waiting for somebody to join or to PM me here on the Rayman Pirate-Community and I will gladly join, I am usually available at night/afternoon after 18:00 if I don't have driver's license practice.

It amazes me how creative the DOOM community is. I haven't seen the Razoff's mansion pic, it looks great! 
By the way, I'm going to attach your images. It's better to do so because if you upload these pics to an external server they'll probably be down sooner or later, just like it happened in your second post.

, I have some more ideas for extra maps and new stuff to put in them so more maps will be added later, but for now V.1.0.1 will be the definitive version until I add enough to justify a new one.
I'll keep an eye on this thread and post any update.
PD: For ONLINE play only, a few people ran into these 2 problems:
[24-02-03 21:24:49] Connect (v3.1)
[24-02-03 21:24:49] Incorrect version.
The version of Zandronum they are using is different than the server's version 3.2, to be specific Alpha: Zandronum 3.2 (230709-1914), but the deffault is 3.1, make doomseeker download that one.
Click the box "testing releases" so you set it to "true" (on the image the box is still disabled and needs to be clicked so doomseeker can search, save and install other builds)
