In that case < is glad it came in handy!DaveRattlehead wrote: Sun Jan 21, 2024 1:03 am It was something < was working on three years ago during the final degree's project and < thought it was important (or at least < was told), so < kept all that data on the computer. < received an unexpected email. The guy < and <'s boss were working with contacted us, saying that he wanted to perform a few catalytic tests before start writing the manuscript! After that, < had to look at all the information saved and compilate everything in the supporting information.
< isn't surprised, as the environments and music alone are worth itCHRdutch wrote: Sun Jan 21, 2024 11:52 am < wonders why < goes back to Rayman M from time to time

< didn't get a lot of sleep. < had to wash clothes late last night and then be up early. < might need a nap later.

< didn't exactly do well on sleep last night either. < had gone to bed just after midnight and got up shortly after six. So yeah, < can related.

<‘s not doing well on sleep either. <‘s been sleeping a little too late for <‘s liking (2-3AM) and getting up around 8-9. < guess < still needs to adjust to being a morning person.
< envies ^^ for being able to wake up at 6 tbh.
< is on a walk again for the first time in awhile. <‘s trying to walk in the new slip-ons < got but <‘s left foot is in pain even from sitting down. Hope this feeling will subside the more < uses it.

It was about 7AM for <, though < didn't sleep until just after 2AM either. < ended up napping for an hour at some point before going to the store.Hoodcom wrote: Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:14 pm < didn't exactly do well on sleep last night either. < had gone to bed just after midnight and got up shortly after six. Re: The You Game!
< was out much longer than < needed to yesterday. By the time < got home, two of the toes in <'s right foot were in pain and a little red. < appreciates <'s dad's thoughtfulness on getting < slip-ons. But < agrees with him that they're probably going to be only on "special occasions" and even then < will still wear socks and not wear those shoes very long.
< also does this with quite a few games recently, where < will just go back to them after < completed them and just play around, with Mario Kart Double Dash being the most notorious one for the moment.
< literally had a phase of this last year where < would constantly go back to Arena on Dolphin and randomly play against the computer opponents. < does think the music in the game slaps though.

Re: The You Game!
< completely forgot about "the Slaps of Happiness" until ^ just said "slaps" now. < was a very random person back in the day and < would almost go back in time and slap <'s self nowadays.

< went to the eye doctor a few days ago because < was planning to buy some new glasses. <'s last time < went was 5 years ago and < noticed some eyestrain. < seems to have developed some astigmatism too

Re: The You Game!
< woke up around 5:20 this morning to find what looked like the entire town in darkness. <'s first thought was to get to their phone and check whether it was a local fault or the EMP < has been dreading for the last two years
Needless to say, it was the former, and power was restored 16 minutes after < reported the fault online

Re: The You Game!
< is glad that ^ wasn't without power for long in that case. < remember having to go without power for several hours due to severe storms having strong enough winds to knock out power in a lot of places in <'s area. <'s work had power though, but man that night < couldn't sleep at all.
< has begun working on cleaning up <'s room and getting the closet cleaned out for that renovation project < has on relocating the audio rack into that space. < got the audio equipment out of the existing rack and a lot of those cables pulled. < will pull all the video game consoles too and clear out the wall < will need to have wall plates added for the new speaker wire runs and even some HDMI runs.
< has been wanting to re-sort the wiring for the video game systems anyway, so this will just help with that.

< thankfully hasn't had a storm knock it out for that long in years, touch wood.Hoodcom wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2024 5:10 pm < is glad that ^ wasn't without power for long in that case. < remember having to go without power for several hours due to severe storms having strong enough winds to knock out power in a lot of places in <'s area. <'s work had power though, but man that night < couldn't sleep at all.
Anyway, today <'s dad got a notice in the post that they're going to disconnect us again next Friday. Presumably this means they've identified the actual root cause and are planning permanent corrective actions. < knew there had to be more to it, reclosers don't just trip for no reason…

< does it that way, but it's only four consoles.

Re: The You Game!
That's the way < actually has it setup now, just not in a cleaner way right now.Hunchman801 wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2024 4:24 pm< wonders if ^ plans on having them all wired and available to play at any time.Hoodcom wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2024 5:10 pm < has been wanting to re-sort the wiring for the video game systems anyway, so this will just help with that.
< does it that way, but it's only four consoles.
< Ended up going with the RetroTINK 4k since <'s newer surround sound processor isn't happy with the out of spec HDMI signals from <'s OSSC. < basically has <'s NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Sega Genesis (Sega CD too), Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2, PS3, PS4, and PS5, Atari Jaguar and NEC Duo, and of course the Xbox 360 and Xbox One whatever it is at the ready.
< also has <'s 486 DX4 computer in the loop too.
< wants to finally clean up all the wiring since a ton will change with the system now, with the relocation project. Which will also allow < to move a couple of servers rack mounted from the small closet in <'s computer room into the new space. Cutting down on heat and noise in here.
So yeah, it's a big project < wants to get done before the end of next month, since < has to get a lot done.
Re: The You Game!
< thinks it's nice that ^ is working on their setup. < can't do that for now unfortunately as space here is limited, but < will look forward to it all when < has a house instead.
< ordered a new scaler that will be able to accept compos(h)ite input, so that < can listen to the chiptune < makes on the real NES, along with being able to use the N64 again. < only has a PAL NES, so any songs that < makes with expansions need a lot of awkward changes to play and sound as intended (due to the pitch differences and frame time differences between PAL vs NTSC). < hopes to get an NTSC NES at some point.

Re: The You Game!
< sees what ^ did there

< sees ^^’s pretty excited about the setup.
On another note, < can’t wait for FF7 Rebirth to come out! < gave the demo a play and liked it a lot.

Re: The You Game!
< still thinks the composite joke is funny.
< enjoys being able to listen to the songs on the real hardware, < always favoured real hardware over emulation.
< is glad that ^ enjoys it, FF7 is an amazing game. < might look into it later too.
