I also remember when I was a kid I'd usually take my sister's Rayman Advance so I could play it myself, and other kids would usually watch what I was playing, which was nice but made me slightly uncomfortable since I didn't like people watching me play my video games at the time.

Bump. I'm very sure there are many people in this forum who can share their experiences after 6 years :P

I don't think being embarrassed for talking about Rayman would be a correct statement. If I deeply talked about videogames (or specifically about Rayman) it always has been in a friendly environment. I'm not one of those people who says everything about themselves to a stranger. So no, I'd say I haven't talked about Rayman nor my favourite videogames to a person who isn't close to me. They may know I own a PlayStation, but that's all. I know that many people owned a PlayStation/Wii/Xbox, but as I said, as they weren't close people I haven't talked about videogames/Rayman with them.

With my close group of friends it's completely different. There are people who are interested in videogames and I've mentioned Rayman sometimes. Some of them know who's Rayman and some others not, but they haven't criticized the series for that. We're friends and it's always interesting to listen to other people talking about what they like, even if I don't know too much about that. Some other people in this group of friends aren't really that interested in videogames, so it isn't something I talk about. Sure, they know I like videogames and they know the videogames I like (including Rayman), but as they don't know too much about videogames (they only know the most popular ones, like Call of Duty, FIFA, Grand Theft Auto...) I don't really talk about the topic.

Yes I was thinking about talking about rayman in front of my class for our presentations, but I changed it to chess instead

I’ve never gone out of my way to share rayman but I have accidentally enlightened people to his world on several occasions

When I was in elementary school I'd talk to my friends about it quite a bit despite them not caring about Rayman at all, but not since then. Nowadays many of my friends and I are just more invested in each others' interests, we'll always take turns playing each others' games and watching each others' movies. It's really quite lovely and fulfilling :coeur:
