What are your thoughts on the 30th Anniversary Edition of Rayman 1?

I love it, it's exactly what I expected!

I love it, but I think the price is a bit excessive for what it is.

It's fine, although I'm not entirely convinced by the soundtrack.

It's okay, although I wouldn't have included the accessibility options (infinite lives, etc.).

I expected more from Ubisoft. They should have made some improvements, just like the fans did with Rayman Redemption.

I gotta say it's surprising as normally the original trilogy is more popular in the polls, but the introductory song from Rayman Legends takes the win!

I liked this format, so let's give it a try again... I'll show you three boss songs from the original trilogy and you have to vote for your favourite one. Here they are :)

Let's see which one takes the win :hinhinhin:

I like them all but Mr Dark's Dare is clearly my favorite!

I wish that Mr Dark's Dare was my favorite. For a while it was, but the Reflux final battle phase #1 music blew me away the first time I heard it. :)

I would have liked the final Reflux theme more if they had made the fight better. As a result I prefer Reflux's first fight in general, including the music. But for the purposes of this poll I'll go with Mr. Dark's Dare.

I definitely would have chosen First Steps or Woods of Light. Iconic and nostalgic for me.

All of them are nostalgic for sure ;)

Mr Dark's Dare takes the win! Half of the people voted for this song, and not gonna lie, there are plenty of reasons to do so :)

The next poll is about Rayman himself. His personality has changed through the different games, and now it's time for you to vote which one of his personalities do you prefer. Do you prefer the young and innocent personality from the first game, or the naughty and rebel one from Rayman 3? What about his will and determination from Rayman 2? Or who knows, maybe you prefer his wild side from Origins and Legends... Let's vote! :mryellow:

Hot take, I kinda prefer the new games personality. He seems like he's just having a blast jumping around and killing enemies, and I prefer it over the more serious personalities. I have never played Rayman 1 either so I can't say anything for him in that game.

Rayman 2 definitely. Rayman 1 he barely speaks, Rayman 3 he’s definitely trippin, and Ubi art he’s just a stupid idiot

I think Rayman 3. I love the tone of both Rayman 1 and 2, but he barely says a word in those games! Rayman's not a talkative hero, and that's cool, but I liked that they developed him a bit more. Rayman 2's a close second though, I love his determination in that game.

As for the UbiArt games... no thanks, I'll pass on the slapstick humor!

I agree the UbiArt isn't my first choice. I would be a hypocrite if I said I hate the slapstick humor, because I really liked Tom & Jerry when I was a kid, but sometimes I just wonder if RO and RL's characters even have a personality. The games are incredibly entertaining, the gameplay is amazing and the art style is simply beautiful, but the fact of all the characters being the exact same, but with different skins, is what I find meh.

R1 isn't either my choice. Not much to say about this. The characters from the Rayman series are plain, which doesn't mean it's bad, but it doesn't help at all if the hero doesn't speak

I'm doubting between Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. I'll vote for the first one so there's a tie :)

Well, he doesn't exactly say much in Rayman 3 either: Eleven voice lines, of which five are in a single cutscene (the final one)! :hap:

That's a good point, I'm not sure why I thought he spoke more. Maybe I should have voted Rayman 2. :oops2:

I think you made a slight typo there :hap: Anyway, the three extra lines (of the fourteen recorded on the English wiki) are along the lines of "Woohoo!" so they hardly count tbh...

I linked the French one initially because last I checked it was way more complete overall...

Now, let's talk about the introductory worlds, where our adventure starts :)
Our question this week is... Which one of them is your favourite one? :hehe:
I've included the mainline games here, from R1 to RL. As always, feel free to share your thoughts. I promise I'll be on time to announce the winner! :oops2:

Nothing compares to the Dream Forest. It's not just an introduction to a world; it's an introduction to a universe!

Both Dream Forest and Fairy Council are my favourites, but I'm voting for the R3 introductory world this time. I can expose arguments for both of them, but I finally ended up voting for the Fairy Council because of the soundtrack! :D

The Fairy Council gets my vote. There's a lot going on for an intro level, and 3 was one of the first Rayman games I remember playing. The level itself is incredibly pretty to look at inside and out. I always really liked how relaxing and mystical the music sounded there.
