What are your thoughts on the 30th Anniversary Edition of Rayman 1?

I love it, it's exactly what I expected!

I love it, but I think the price is a bit excessive for what it is.

It's fine, although I'm not entirely convinced by the soundtrack.

It's okay, although I wouldn't have included the accessibility options (infinite lives, etc.).

I expected more from Ubisoft. They should have made some improvements, just like the fans did with Rayman Redemption.

What I don't like about the Fairy Council is that stupid unskippable Murfy talk at the beginning of part 2.

I agree that the Fairy Council is a great introductory level, but I have the fondest memories of the Dream Forest!

I dunno if this poll is really balanced, you have worlds that have multiple levels inside it and then one world that’s really just a level that’s short and sweet. Having said that, the Dream Forest and Woods of Light are real nostalgic for me.

Which is exactly why this level is not as fond for me these days ever since I took scoring more seriously. Every single time I have to start over, the talk happens.

I also found it a bit hard to compare a world with two levels, but but I guess the visual unity helped here.

That doesn’t really make it unbalanced since the question is just which your prefer :mefiant:

Now, let's focus on a hypothetical new Rayman game. We've all heard about different fangames and stories featuring a huge variety of enemies, so I think it's a good opportunity to look for RPC's opinion about it. Our question this week is... Would you like to see a new enemy in a hypothetical new Rayman game? Or maybe you're fine with one of the enemies featured in the mainline games? Let's see... :hinhinhin:

Someone new please. Each of the original trilogy introduced an entirely new Big Bad, so this tradition should be continued (in that hypothetical universe where a new game in that style ever gets made…)

As much as I'd like to see Mr Dark return, I'd definitely prefer seeing what kind of new and creative enemies Ubisoft could come up with for a new game.

Similar feeling here. I'd love to see the pirates back, but I honestly prefer another enemy with a coherent story. It shouldn't be hard, right? :)

Well I suppose you're right about that.

I echo the others in stating I'd like to see something new. (I'm curious to see if anyone here would want to see Ales Mansay again???)

Conclusions are clear... We need a new enemy! And a new game, of course. Can you read us, Ubisoft? :hehe:

Based on the Cool Poll Thread, we'll do a similar one here... Our question this week is: When did you start playing Rayman? How long have you been a fan of the series? Was it a big influence for you? Tell us about it!

The first time I played rayman was in 2015 at a friends house, then a year later I downloaded the mobile games (jungle run, fiesta run, Adventures) and I got origins and legends in 2018, then rayman 2 in 2022 and rayman mini, 1 and 3 in 2023

Why is you getting origins and legends first out of the main games unsurprising to me.

Actually 2018 was also when I got Origins and Legends. A full 10 year gap from when I first got Rayman 3, phew!

It was in the 90s, but I'm not too sure when exactly. Maybe 1998?

My first time playing a Rayman game was in... 2004? Rayman 2, like many other Ubisoft games, was included in a chocolate box . It might have been 2003, I'm not sure about it, but I distinctly remember playing Rayman 3 at Christmas 2004.
