Would you pay more taxes if it meant receiving a pension when you retire?

Yes, the state should guarantee a pension for its citizens.

Yes, but a mixed model would be more efficient (50% state + 50% private pension plan, for example).

No, the state does not have to manage my money; I prefer to have it myself and opt, for example, for a private pension plan.

Man, that reminded me to lots of shops that included "2000" in their names to make everything look futuristic and revolutionary. Yeah, definitely the 2000s were a thing

We also had computer lab at primary school! But I gotta say the IT teacher was... The PE teacher :fou:. I don't think I learned something there, most of the things I know were learned at home with my dad, my sister or my cousin. I remember all of the class went crazy when they saw me typing very fast .

We had a computer at home. My father used Windows 95 and Windows 98, but I wasn't even born those years, so the first OS I used was Windows XP. When I started usinng Internet I was around 5 years old, and there was no supervision most of the times. That's probably a very bad idea nowadays, but I'd say the Internet (and real life generally) was a bit more innocent 20 years ago. Also, most of the times I'd be playing flash games or looking for content of the shows and videogames that I liked, so there was nothing to worry about .
I remember liking the way everything looked during the 2000s. Everything feels very conformed and streamlined compared to the messier or sleeker designs of the early 2000s. I frankly miss it and spend a lot of time on Flashpoint so I can appreciate how visually distinct the flash games I grew up with looked from one another. The flash hosting websites are likely long gone but I really enjoyed spending my free time on them after tearing through my typing exercises. NG and CoolMath are still around, at least. :hap:

I can't imagine a PE teacher would make a good IT teacher, lol :oops2: Our IT teacher was just whatever teacher needed the lab, from what I remember. In our case our teacher was also our IT teacher. She really just supervised the class and assisted when a kid was stuck.

My gramps would bring his work laptop to work with him, so it would stay at home overnight. He let us draw desktops for him in MSpaint. Eventually we did get a home laptop though, I think. It was that one laptop for awhile. I remember really missing XP when we switched to Vista. Nowadays I have a computer of my own, using the newest Windows OS. I don't mind it like I did Vista, but sometimes I miss the colorful Windows logo and bootup jingles. :nostalgic:

I also used Vista in the 2000s as it was included in my old laptop. I gotta say I didn't like Vista. My laptop had lots of problems with this operative system, and by that time we were always comparing how bad Vista was compared to XP. Most of these problems just disappeared when I switched to 7 in early 2010. Recently I've been curious about this topic and it's crazy to see how poorly optimized was Vista. But hey, I really liked the Windows Aero aesthetic featured in Vista and 7! Everything was very colourful and bright, it looked very futuristic and naturist at the same time :).

I drank the Vista kool-aid, and it never gave me too many problems. Probably the worst part was that the video codecs it shipped with caused problems when processing video captured with my old Ulead digital camera in Windows Movie Maker (it would compress the video into the upper half of the frame and put an ugly green bar in the lower half). That was probably a very solvable problem, except I didn't have the know-how to look for a solution. (I was on dial-up until 2008, so endless internet searches would have been even more tedious than they are now!)

It must have been the early 2000s. I know we got broadband in 2003, and I was already active on some websites in 2002, maybe even earlier. If not at home, the first time might have been at school.

Not gonna lie, I'm very surprised with the results. Half of the people who voted discovered the Internet on the 2010s! Should I feel old? :confus:

As I was browsing through the forum I read the topic regarding Rayman's height again, and I think it's a very good opportunity to ask... How tall are you? Are you taller than Rayman or are you a Minion?

I think I stopped growing up very soon. I can't remember, but it's been a long time since my height hasn't changed at all. It is said you can still grow up until you're 18 years old! That wasn't my case

I was supposed to be >1.80m tall, but I ended up being 1.71m tall :fou:

Don't envy me but I share the same height as Rayman 8) (supposing he's around 1,50m lol)
Unfortunately I tend to suffer because my height is quite rare and so almost everything around me is not intended for people short like me, for example I struggle to get items from the top shelves in supermarkets, find clothes that are not too large for me and more...

I'm something like 1.65m myself, so fairly short. I think I pretty much stopped growing when I was 13. :fou:

Same here, and look at us now :(
Just a curiosity... Were you also one of the tallest before you stopped growing?

We had a topic on this before… According to that, I was 5'10" (~178 cm) in 2015, and I presume it hasn't changed since :hap:

Not quite, but clearly average at some point! And then everyone kept growing. :fou2:

Ok so I had to calculate this apparently I’m 1.778 meters? I don’t know why I feel this way but lately I think I’m shrinking. :P

I was taller than the average height before, but just like Hunch I stopped growing up very soon  . When I was around 10-11, I remember my parents had to buy me new shoes three times in just a couple of months because I was growing up quickly!

I definitely thought we were taller in average! Rayman is still a Minion compared to us

Summer/winter (depending on the hemisphere) is getting closer, so it's a good opportunity to ask. The question is simple... Do you prefer summer or winter?

Winter. I hate being hot and love being cold. They only thing I don’t like about winter are places being closed and getting colds
