Yeah Nokia's mobile history is a mess. <'s glad that they're still around in some capacity, but <'s wondering if their days are numbered now that HMD are starting to use their own brand name over the Nokia name.PluMGMK wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:42 pm< didn't even know that, but that checks out with a quick search on DuckDuckGoMaster wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:40 pm< thought they were HMD nowSteo wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:39 pm < still likes the idea of having a laptop for portability, but < also likes having a desktop mainly. < has a somewhat decent laptop that gets from A to B, and can still play games if need be. < does remember being hesitant to upgrade to a smart phone at one point, and seeming so old fashioned for still using a Nokia while being told to "get with the times" lol.![]()

<'s grandfather just has some simple phone with buttons on it, because they wouldn't have a clue how to use one with a touchscreen. <'s grandmother had adapted to technology though when she was around, but <'s grandfather is the type of person who would barely even know how to use the TV remote. He would even accuse that someone was "messing with it", because it was on a different HDMI channel, and he didn't even know how to change it back. He must only know how to press channel up and down.PluMGMK wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:42 pm< didn't even know that, but that checks out with a quick search on DuckDuckGoMaster wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:40 pm< thought they were HMD nowSteo wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:39 pm < still likes the idea of having a laptop for portability, but < also likes having a desktop mainly. < has a somewhat decent laptop that gets from A to B, and can still play games if need be. < does remember being hesitant to upgrade to a smart phone at one point, and seeming so old fashioned for still using a Nokia while being told to "get with the times" lol.![]()

Re: The You Game!
Well, they're all quite worn down, just from years of general use. The other one is still usable, just much less sturdy. A bit of woodglue would probably sort it all outHoodcom wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:50 pm< wonders how worn down that chair is now, if the other one is ruined.PluMGMK wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:47 pm < is posting from a kitchen chair, which is beside another kitchen chair that has been ruined by < sitting in it for hours and hours, posting, coding, gaming, etc…![]()

< forgot about this, but it seems a lot of Simpsons quotes kind of ironically resonate with people in the end.

Re: The You Game!
That reminds < of the guy who used to sit beside < at work. One day he was musing about technology, and thinking that it would be cool if you had a keyboard that didn't have buttons for Num Lock / Caps Lock, you'd just say "Num Lock on". < pointed out that then you probably wouldn't need a keyboard in the first placeMaster wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:52 pm < wonders if we'll even have physical interfaces for technology, or if it'll be some gesture based stuff. < hopes it'll be something tactile at least...
A couple of years later, that same guy's Caps Lock key actually popped off his keyboard
