Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm about to finish Dark Souls 2. I've reached the endgame section and I gotta say it's been a disappointing experience after playing Dark Souls 1, which is waaaay better.
Still, I'll try other souls games in the future. As I'm used to the mechanics I think it's the perfect time to do so.

Good, you shouldn't let one not-so-great experience dampen your spirits towards the other ones. You might find some games in a series better than others.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I mentioned it in other threads, but I thought it'd be hilarious to mention Evil Twin: Cyprien's Chronicles here also, since it's actually been mentioned in this thread years and years ago. The old posts are basically the total opposite of my feelings on it. I know Evil Twin doesn't control the best, has some glitches, and the camera sometimes gets a little out of hand around certain spots...But for me it was a FANTASTIC game. It was the perfect game I'd always been trying to find and finally found. Playing an isolated, snarky, backtalking and swearing orphan kid with a cynical wit was so refreshing. I probably shouldn't, but I could really relate to Cyprien. He was just like me. Having the same mindset made things very quick to grasp, though I really struggled with everything initially, especially his floaty jump. But I can overlook the flaws in rough-edged games like Evil Twin to see them as the unpolished, slightly cracked gems they are to me.
The dark, grungy, and weathered-looking world was unlike any I've had to explore before. Not knowing what could happen from one place to the next, nor what was in store for me was something I wasn't used to, either. But the game itself really left an impression on me and I've done something for it that I almost never do for other games; I've replayed it multiple times. I want to see everything the game has to offer, and I've taught myself so many tricks and secrets during my run-throughs that I can tear through the whole game in a single sitting if I'm determined enough. I've even gone out of my way to playthrough all the versions of it, too; even the E3 Demo!
I like the Dreamcast one the most. It's the shortest version but I played it first, so it's the one whose controls and puzzle design I'm most familiar with. I could go on, but I think I've said what I've been meaning to say ever since I read those old posts; I love this game.

Yeah it's very common to see those things. I was already warned about that, so it wasn't surprising at all. But still, I want to complete that game. Even it isn't as good as the others, it's challenging af.The Jonster wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:47 am Good, you shouldn't let one not-so-great experience dampen your spirits towards the other ones. I don't pick up games often, but my bf and I have been addicted to playing Sons of the Forest together for the last week or two. We're about to play some more now even though it's record day. The release version of the game delivers so hard... it's one of the few survival games I don't think peak right at the start, it starts great and only gets better.

Have you seen the trailer of that game that looks like Doom but with 1940s Disney aesthetics? It looks amazing!

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been emulating a lot of Frogger lately, there were games for Frogger back then that I never got to play. We had the 2nd one for the Playstation, and completed that. I actually completed it again after the 1st just for old time's sake.
I completed the 1st Playstation one, which was knuckle breaking hard, and I'm working my way through Frogger: The Great Quest, which is a lot of fun, I love the lazy Wednesday summer afternoon vibe it has. I've got a bit to do, since I included GBA ports as well.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I need to still play the previous Like a Dragon game, I was watching a friend play it and it looked really fun.
Currently though, I think I was trying to run through some of the older Metroid games, since the Prime 4 announcement, I've been wanting to get into the mood again. Granted it's not like it'll be coming out until next year so I'm not too fussed about running through them at speed.

When RD is finished, gonna go back and continue with Crystal achronicles. Then after I finish maybe I’ll ask fifo for suggestions about Final Fantasy cuz it has been on my mind for awhile.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
It amazes me how relevant Minecraft has managed to stay. Like I still remember back when I was a teen and Minecraft lpers were all the rage on YouTube. Ofc those days have passed, but it's still interesting that Minecraft is played heavily by folks who were the same age I was when it first came out.
Must be nice though, having something that can be enjoyed and shared by multiple generations.

Yeah, it’s always nice to see the Minecraft community evolving, and now an entire younger generation of kids are experiencing this amazing game for the first time

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I am still playing Octopath Traveler, I currently am at a boring and repetitive part of the game because of the strategy I use to play it.
When I feel I have enough of this game I switch to another one for a break and the games I am playing simultaneously are Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and the PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
When I do not have much time to play, I play What the Golf?, it is a simple game that I can stop anytime as its levels are short and quick to play.
It is a funny game and I suggest you to try it out if you can!

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Oooo, Ocarina of Time huh? I finally got round to playing that and beat the 3DS version earlier this year. Was a good game, I then moved onto Majora's Mask 3D and ended up burning out. I don't know if it's cause of the way its structured, or if I was just tired after beating OoT, but I think I'll give it another try and if it doesn't work out move onto Windwaker. I've been trying to marathon the older 3D Zeldas since I've played and enjoyed BoTW and ToTK.
Indeed, I'm also surprised Roblox in a similar position. I thought that game would've faded away but I've been hearing that's still going on too.Greengoop wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 12:55 pm Yeah, it’s always nice to see the Minecraft community evolving, and now an entire younger generation of kids are experiencing this amazing game for the first time

Feeling excited for the Record Day
I'll probably go back to playing Octopath Traveler soon as yesterday I felt a bit sick and I ended up doing almost noting all day and I have to recover some gaming time
