Re: The You Game!
One of <'s friends said duck is more like dark meat in chicken?
Re: The You Game!
< didn't even know before that some people actually don't have turkey at Christmas. That's always how it has been over here.
Re: The You Game!
< would say that it's a much stronger taste, but still different than game meat.Hoodcom wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:10 pm One of <'s friends said duck is more like dark meat in chicken?
Since you're eating pizza, < already had duck breast pizza. It's fantastic!

< generally has turkey for Thanksgiving in November here in the US, but < also gets turkey meat for sandwiches anytime of the year.Steo wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:14 pm < didn't even know before that some people actually don't have turkey at Christmas. That's always how it has been over here.

< Doesn't think it's really anything like chicken, at least when roasted. Much more like a beef fillet mignon in texture, and tastes more gameyHoodcom wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:13 pm One of <'s friends said duck is more like dark meat in chicken?

< says Wikipædia has a good one – it’s nothing too hard, really:
Wikipedia wrote: The dish is made by first lightly sautéing thinly sliced garlic in extra virgin olive oil, sometimes with the addition of red pepper flakes (dried chili—in which case its name is spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino). The oil and garlic are then tossed with spaghetti cooked in salted water. Finely chopped Italian parsley is then commonly added as a garnish.

< thinks it's interesting though how there are different holidays in different countries.

< guesses < isn't sure on what defines a "gamey" taste in the meat. Or how that is.Ambidextroid wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:19 pm < Doesn't think it's really anything like chicken, at least when roasted. Much more like a beef fillet mignon in texture, and tastes more gamey

< will soon be going to <'s cousin's and her partner's joint birthday party. Fancy dress beginning with J. <'s going as a jazz musician (because that's what < is these days, and also because < has a good hat for it)
