Re: How's the weather?
No sign of rain for the entire forecast here. I don’t care, at least I can go outside

Re: How's the weather?
It's gotten cloudy now but was fine enough to get some laundry done. Tomorrow might be the same.
Re: How's the weather?
That's another issue also is if you want to hang the clothes out to dry, and you have to be on weather alert to take them in quickly if it starts to rain.

Re: How's the weather?
This is the only good thing about a heatwave - laundry that takes no time to dry, even jeans. It has been a nightmare to do all year otherwise.
Re: How's the weather?
Yeah that's the thing, but of course the humidity is a nightmare when you're inside or just trying to sleep at night.

Wait how do you guys dry your clothes? Do you hang them or use a dryer?

Unless you have air conditioning to help with that issue.Steo wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:22 pm Yeah that's the thing, but of course the humidity is a nightmare when you're inside or just trying to sleep at night.

Re: How's the weather?
Yeah but AC isn't common in the UK so most of us just boil over and sweat during the heatwaves when it gets humid. Hence why I'm of the thinking that we're likely to see a slow introduction of AC for residential properties in the future as heatwaves become more and more unbearable
Re: How's the weather?
I really wish I did at this point. We only have fans and even a cheap air cooler that uses water in Sweden. It only helps so much.

I'm surprised that air conditioning is still not common in a lot of places over there.Steo wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:35 pm I really wish I did at this point. We only have fans and even a cheap air cooler that uses water in Sweden. It only helps so much.

Re: How's the weather?
Where I am is pretty cloudy right now. Course, the house I live in is ALWAYS FREEZING and outside is TOO HOT. But I tend to just stay inside for some reason. I guess at least I can cool off in it...

Re: How's the weather?
Yeah I would think you can control the freezing. You can't control the outside heat.CosmicStrider wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:37 pm Where I am is pretty cloudy right now. Re: How's the weather?
It will probably become more common due to global warning, but I feel like some areas in the states were likely much hotter than where I live.Hoodcom wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:36 pm I'm surprised that air conditioning is still not common in a lot of places over there.

I mean around here, our summer heat ain't really any worse than it was 100 years ago, one of the Civil War sights in our state park explained just how hot the summers got for them.Steo wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:39 pm It will probably become more common due to global warning, but I feel like some areas in the states were likely much hotter than where I live.
Re: How's the weather?
72* degrees at the moment for us. Not bad. I'm still using my air conditioner at the moment though.

Re: How's the weather?
Reading over this topic and the talk of thunderstorms reminds me of the storms that swept across the south of Ireland last week. I was woken around 3am by thunder, having already had a bout of it earlier that night! We were very lucky that our power stayed on, because when I looked at the outage map I could see a lot of them, some very near us!

Hot, hot, and hot. Temp on fan says 79 though.

Re: How's the weather?
Do y'all get much tornado activity over there?
Re: How's the weather?
It definitely feels like it got warmer or at least more humid than I previously remember as time went on. Then again, our house didn't always have triple glazed windows and it was pumped with insulation too.Hoodcom wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:42 pm I mean around here, our summer heat ain't really any worse than it was 100 years ago, one of the Civil War sights in our state park explained just how hot the summers got for them.![]()

Re: How's the weather?
I'm not allowed to adjust the thermostat to make it warmer. When I say, it's ALWAYS freezing I mean it!The Jonster wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:38 pm Yeah I would think you can control the freezing. You can't control the outside heat.![]()
