No sign of rain for the entire forecast here. I don’t care, at least I can go outside

It's gotten cloudy now but was fine enough to get some laundry done. Tomorrow might be the same.

That's another issue also is if you want to hang the clothes out to dry, and you have to be on weather alert to take them in quickly if it starts to rain.

This is the only good thing about a heatwave - laundry that takes no time to dry, even jeans. It has been a nightmare to do all year otherwise.

Yeah that's the thing, but of course the humidity is a nightmare when you're inside or just trying to sleep at night.

Unless you have air conditioning to help with that issue. :bad:

Yeah but AC isn't common in the UK so most of us just boil over and sweat during the heatwaves when it gets humid. Hence why I'm of the thinking that we're likely to see a slow introduction of AC for residential properties in the future as heatwaves become more and more unbearable

I really wish I did at this point. We only have fans and even a cheap air cooler that uses water in Sweden. It only helps so much.

I'm surprised that air conditioning is still not common in a lot of places over there.

Where I am is pretty cloudy right now. Course, the house I live in is ALWAYS FREEZING and outside is TOO HOT. But I tend to just stay inside for some reason. I guess at least I can cool off in it...

Yeah I would think you can control the freezing. You can't control the outside heat. :oops2:

It will probably become more common due to global warning, but I feel like some areas in the states were likely much hotter than where I live.

I mean around here, our summer heat ain't really any worse than it was 100 years ago, one of the Civil War sights in our state park explained just how hot the summers got for them.

72* degrees at the moment for us. Not bad. I'm still using my air conditioner at the moment though.

Reading over this topic and the talk of thunderstorms reminds me of the storms that swept across the south of Ireland last week. I was woken around 3am by thunder, having already had a bout of it earlier that night! We were very lucky that our power stayed on, because when I looked at the outage map I could see a lot of them, some very near us!

It definitely feels like it got warmer or at least more humid than I previously remember as time went on. Then again, our house didn't always have triple glazed windows and it was pumped with insulation too.

I'm not allowed to adjust the thermostat to make it warmer. When I say, it's ALWAYS freezing I mean it!
