Re: Tonic Trouble
Here's a confession: I've never actually played Tonic Trouble past the first level! Perhaps I should give it a go one of these days.

Re: Tonic Trouble
Meanwhile, me who never got to experience the original Tonic Trouble altogether because it's an old rare game and Ubi did nothing to preserve it:

Re: Tonic Trouble
Well, from what I remember you're not missing much. It was essentially a cheap psychedelic adventure / platformer game. Somewhat like Conkers, but with way less fun.Mortamon Saturn wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 11:02 am Meanwhile, me who never got to experience the original Tonic Trouble altogether because it's an old rare game and Ubi did nothing to preserve it:![]()

Re: Tonic Trouble
I've always been told it's mediocre or OK at best, and yet a part of me still want to experience it as it's a part of Rayman's history in a way!
I guess it's a form of morbid curiosity like when I tried Hoodlums' Revenge despite all the warnings

Re: Tonic Trouble
I see what you mean. To be honest I prefer Hoodlum's Revenge to Tonic Trouble.

Re: Tonic Trouble
I just bought the PC version of TT off eBay! I know there's a thread on here somewhere to help me get it running once it arrives, so that's nice.

Re: Tonic Trouble
Actually, it only cost me 15 US dollars not including shipping! From my research though, it seems like it's actually the "Special Edition" despite that not being written anywhere on the case. I know that version has tank controls and is a little different in general but that's fine by me!

Re: Tonic Trouble
Tonic trouble is actually quite cheap for a 25 year old game! I saw it at CeX for £12 on the N64 and the PC version for £10!
Re: Tonic Trouble
An interesting little discovery: the appearance of the stairs next to Doc's house balcony
Re: Tonic Trouble
I think the story of Tonic Trouble GBC takes place after the original Tonic Trouble. In this version, the pharmacist was defeated and turned into a pig bank.

Re: Tonic Trouble
It could as much be an alternate timeline, like many Rayman handheld Rayman versions can't fit into the main canon, but it's always interesting to think about.
Re: Tonic Trouble
I found some early cover designs for the Chinese version of Tonic Trouble on RayWiki. This game seems to be referred to as one of the Rayman Trilogy by Ubisoft in China.

I don't remember seeing this cover before!
I hope we'll find a higher quality version of it in future

Re: Tonic Trouble
It's interesting that the N64 logo and ESRB logo in the bottom left corner of this cover, and I think this version of the cover has a Chinese logo added to other unused covers.

Can someone upload a clearer version? The werewolf (?) and baby stroller in this picture look very interesting!

Re: Tonic Trouble
I don't think I've seen this poster before. I imagine they don't appear in the final version of the game?

Re: Tonic Trouble
Yeah, I think they must among the characters that were scrapped from the final version, I would also like to see a higher resolution version of the poster.
Btw, looking in the Internet Archive, I found this poster were Ed is giving a flower to the lady that is singing for Grögh in the intro cutscene, however he is weirdly looking at the sky. I guess it would be inappropiate for kids if he were looking somewhere else
