I'm surprised that 1 person believes euthanasia is moral.

Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread - Poll #111: Do you think that euthanasia is morally correct?
I personally believe euthanasia is morally correct. Many people have to suffer every single day because they have a life-altering disability, and would do anything to just be put out of this misery. Yet if you help someone achieve this you can go to jail for assisted suicide, considering the only places in Europe you can go for this are Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, and people with serious injuries/illnesses couldn’t get there themselves.
A lot of arguments agains euthanasia come from religion and the bible, but a TRULY loving god wouldn’t want to see his people suffer like this (although he did torture them relentlessly in the Old Testament) I’m surprised 2 people don’t agree with euthanasia, to be honest

I’ve never been in a situation like this where I could end someone’s life nor would I want to ever be in this position. This is one question I choose to bow out.

I wanted to say 'no', but I'm visiting Switzerland at the moment, so I have to say 'yes'.

My initial reaction to the current poll:
Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread - Poll #111: Do you think that euthanasia is morally correct?
As long as anyone involved is okay, it's okay for me.
That being said, outside of this definition I would have euthanized the fuck out of my grandma back in the day, if given the opportunity. She suffered from alzheimers and she was a vegetable for the last three years of her life. She was a burden for everybody. She couldn't have consented (even when conscious) but I feel it would have been the best move for everyone involved.

Looks a bit out of place next to polls like “do you like your potatoes with mayonnaise” (next poll idea

I also think it's morally correct in situations where people have no choice but to suffer day after day until death eventually puts them out of their misery.

Re: The Awesome and Cool Poll Thread - Poll #111: Do you think that euthanasia is morally correct?
My response to this debate is quite simple... If I were in a situation where I am in a vegetable state, or where I simply have a disease that makes me suffer daily as if I were in hell, I would prefer a thousand times that they end my suffering quickly rather than prolong the agony. I don't even know if that can be considered “living”, but that's surely a torture for me and my family. Both me and many of my friends could always give examples of people who died after years of suffering with some disease, and the most frequent comment is always something like “they can finally rest, both the person who died and the family”.

I love these polls where it’s an option up for debate and not just the RPC hivemind making one option extremely more voted than the other

Next poll coming up is about vegetarianism / veganism. I'll put it up in a few minutes…

I eat meat, however, I think beyond/impossible/vegan alternatives are absolutely delicious. If I had no choice but to stop eating meat, I would still be happy, even though nothing can directly replace the taste of it. Bean patties and cauliflower nuggets are just chefkiss
Fish though... I guess so. Even though raw salmon might be my favourite thing on earth, I'm very curious how those vegan versions taste.

Are you ready for the next poll? I’d recommend EdgeRabbit’s idea of whether you are neurodivergent or not

I haven't felt this … alone for quite some time

How about if you suspect something but haven't (yet) been diagnosed? I don't know if "neurotypical" would be the right answer in that case, but the others wouldn't be right either since you don't know for sure…Greengoop wrote: Mon Oct 21, 2024 7:26 am I think the options should be (where you can choose from as many as you want)

I didn't vote, in fact
I would be more inclined to say that I'm more of a pesce-pollotarian. There are only certain scenarios where I would eat red meat and I don't eat it that often. Dairy and eggs, that's a different story.
