No, because I made a post on the music you are currently listening to after I made that post

It probably fits every aspect I do not like about the games, yeah.

Well in any case, I am ok with Ales Mansay being the name of the Magician in Origins. Not so much for the R1 Magician.

Probably because it isn’t completely identical to R1 then?

It's true that Rayman 1 does not have appalling slapstick humor and skimpy nymphs, but I'm sure that's the case for the vast majority of games so your point is moot.

I didn’t think the slapstick was “funny” but I wouldn’t call it “appalling” either

I'm well aware that this is a matter of taste, and I understand that people will have different opinions about it. I'm simply sharing mine.

Yeah, I think your opinion is probably more valid than mine anyway

His name comes from Salesman in Pig Latin but with a space, but it's not actually in Pig Latin. His name in Pig Latin would be "Alesway Ansaymay"

"Salesman" is a single word, so its Pig Latin translation is "alesmansay". Then they just put a space in the middle of that.
ArcaneDarkling wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2024 5:03 pm Now the only thing left to spread it's that it's actually (very likely) pronounced "Eils" as in "Sales"
Well of course it is. So wait, how have people been pronouncing it?? :o

Like the city of Alès, I suppose. This was also the case for the team that localized the scrapped script in Russian, where he is known as "Алес Манси".

On a more important note, I'm happy to announce that the split has finally been taken care of! There's gonna be a bunch of links to update now...

Ok in that case I’ll just start calling him The Salesman instead of the Magician. Albeit, a salesman who doesn’t sell you anything

Well, that's the thing when you refer to elements scrapped from the final game, they don't really make sense anymore!

He technically does sell you a medallion, but I’d rather keep by 350 lums :fou:

He actually does (sort of) talk like one? particularly in the level Hi-Ho Moskito he says "Lums For Electoons! Grab 'em while you can!" and in the level Geyser Blowout he also says "Get 'em while they're hot! Two for one Lums, limited time only!" when explaining how lum kings work

Isn't it obvious that they are the same? They wanted Rayman to be unique so they retconned Rayman's species into being teensies (despite going back on the retcon in Legends if the costume descriptions are anything to go by). There's no reason to believe the magician in Rayman 1 and Rayman Origins aren't the same character.
