It really does shows how deprived and desperate some people are to have some new official Rayman game. Now I understand there are people out there who are actually quite optimistic about this, and while it’s perfectly fine to be hopeful I do wish the best that their dreams do not get horribly crushed. In other words, don’t get too excited yet! Just wait and see what happens.Sabertooth wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:03 pm It seems bad that everyone is celebrating and making big YouTube videos and social media posts declaring RAYMAN IS BACK when at this point, uh, nothing has happened.

Yes, but we know nothing more about it at this point. I'll celebrate when (if?
) the game is out.

So claim the leaks, I'm more convinced by the Rayman 3 stuff, Steambot feels like people "connecting the dots"
It feels like when people used to say Half Life 3 Rayman 2 confirmed...

People have been desperate for a Half Life 3 longer than we've been for a Rayman sequel. That meme kinda came out from the reaches and reading into things that people would do.

Yeah, it does feel like ever since Epistle 3 and Alyx, folks have kinda come to terms with things and moved on.

Yeah, I’m aware of the HL3 confirmed. Younger goop thought it was really funny when people brought it up whenever someone mentions the number 3
Well, that’s the fate that half life, and many other series will have to face at one point

As a fan of Jak and Daxter and LBP (that one is still quite raw) amongst many others, I already know that feeling all too well!

Moreso Alyx I'd say... I don't think Epistle Three resolved anything in the fandomMaster wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 2:35 am Yeah, it does feel like ever since Epistle 3 and Alyx, folks have kinda come to terms with things and moved on.

Ok in fairness, they did have Sackboy's Big Adventure, but that game was very much a spinoff. All the mainline LBP games though have been delisted and are offline now which is a real shame. I hope they do revive them in the future, I get there's going to be licensing issues, but those games were and are classics and its a shame to have them be taken down as they were.Greengoop wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 10:07 am I wonder why Sony abandoned LBP, one of their most succcessful series![]()
Oh ok, I'll be honest, I've only ever really had a casual interest in the Half-Life series, moreso it's the Portal subseries that has my interest and HL is more on the periphery. Getting told how it could've been might have reopened some wounds I suppose.

I remember getting LBP a few months ago and seeing all its online features be removed

Indeed, I think a few years ago (?) the servers were attacked, and I think they did at one point make some effort to try to get them back up, but it never came to anything. Since then it's just been a slow death and I think the delisting is effectively just the nail in the coffin at this point. For a series that is based on the "Play, Create, Share" ideal - the loss of servers completely ruins the Sharing ideal, and as knock-on effect, limits the play, and motivation for creating.
It's a sad and rather ignoble end to the games, that's for certain.

Man, do these “humans” have anything better to do than just attack a game made for kids and to express freedom?

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
A bit of that. Plus the fact that Marc Laidlaw had been let go from Valve, and so some people speculated that bitterness may have coloured his telling of the tale. As I recall people said that the ending of the real game, had it been made, might have been less depressing (although the franchise isn't exactly known for its happy endings!Master wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:24 pm Oh ok, I'll be honest, I've only ever really had a casual interest in the Half-Life series, moreso it's the Portal subseries that has my interest and HL is more on the periphery. Anyway, in theory, HL3 "could" still be made at some point in the future, and would doubtless take a different course (especially since, if I've heard correctly, HL:Alyx has actually retconned some of the Episodic timeline – still never played it myself since it's VR-only

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Michel Ancel just posted this on Instagram:
Also interesting how he seems to word it as if he's no longer on the project and was only consulted in the beginning?
Michel Le Redoutable
I do feel a bit bad for him, cause it's true that some news articles has made him out to be worse than he his and people often confuse it and think he was one of the harassers at Ubisoft. But maybe threatening to take people to court isn't the best look...I see that a lot of things are being said about me... Again...
I am available to debate publicly with my anonymous detractors or go to court if they wish.
I believe that these are transparent and effective means of action, far from the background noise of the networks of journalistic vigilantes in search of clicks and recognition.
To all those who are victims, regroup, take legal action instead of anonymously contacting YouTubers or journalists who are only waiting for the juicy nugget that will finance their channel and boost their ego by peddling unverifiable information with great editing and good trendy punch lines.
Concerning Rayman, I am very happy to have been consulted and it is a real pleasure to know that he and his friends are coming back!
For the Pop Lost Crown team, let's hope that they can reform and release a well-deserved sequel. It is up to Ubi Soft to realize that the success of such a project is associated with the birth of a strong collective. It is priceless. Maybe the leaders will understand it one day!
I return to my personal projects and my "little zoos" as it was so ironically presented in an article full of contempt.

Re: Rayman remake rumor - confirmed by Ubisoft!
Hell, so much drama! Such vague posts do not help at all in my opinion. I for example have no idea what articles he's talking about and what he's being criticized for, so what am I to make of this? I would very much prefer if he provided the relevant context and addressed the criticism point by point. Honestly, this reads a bit like a teenager's rant on social media, the kind that when you asked the author what the problem was, they'd reply they don't want to talk about it publicly. Why make the post in the first place, then?
Interestingly enough, he appears to be publicly criticizing Ubisoft's leadership here. I'm not sure what to think of it either, sounds like he's burning his bridges here. But hey, if only we were provided with a little of context here, maybe we wouldn't have to try and second guess everything.
