Probably, apart from on record day of course, where members have gained over 80000 tings in a single day

Actually, people can get 5000 Tings instantly for a decent Rayman 3 score in the Hall of Fame, something which still took Edge two weeks.

However, in terms of post count growth, this might be another story. I'll try to run an analysis when I have time!
