Yeah, he kinda lost me there too, but what can you do!dr_st wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 1:10 pm I was less thrilled when he started pushing his political opinions into his music. However, I understand there is no way to 100% separate the two, when one writes songs inspired by real-world situations and real-life struggles.
Re: Merry Christmas!
I mostly remember him rapping about his life and what made him angry etc. Of course, he said a lot of stuff about his ex, and went through some weird phases.

Yes, like the detailed description of his near-death experience after he overdosed on some pills, in one of the recent albums.Steo wrote: Thu Dec 28, 2023 12:24 am I mostly remember him rapping about his life and what made him angry etc. Of course, he said a lot of stuff about his ex, and went through some weird phases.![]()
His relationship with his ex is also an intriguing and very screwed up one.
Perhaps we need a dedicated Eminem thread. It seems there are quite a few folks here familiar with his work and fond of it.

Re: Merry Christmas!
That would be interesting, and it will probably be a better topic than that "wigger" discussion a few years ago

Yeah, that one was a bad troll. Anyway, I second the creation of such a topic. This would be a good occasion for me to listen to the old albums again and discover the new ones.DaveRattlehead wrote: Thu Dec 28, 2023 11:37 am That would be interesting, and it will probably be a better topic than that "wigger" discussion a few years ago![]()

Re: Merry Christmas!
I realized I never really mentioned what I got for Christmas, so I'd best get that out of the way before the new year arrives!
From some relatives I got chocolate fresh from the factory and a good-sized initial shaped lamp, it provides a nice amount of ambient light. I really needed a nice light for my dark computer corner.
From my aunt I got a custom metal cup with Spy vs. Spy art and my name on it over the White Spy, which was a really cool surprise! I got a good amount of cash from her as well, some which I've already used to replace important things like my dead waterpik and new toothbrush heads. I also brought a frame for a poster of Chaos Legion I adopted from our favorite videogame store's bathroom wall (yes really) for free, and now it's nicely displayed on my wall right next to my pc, rather than being thumbtacked to a wall to cover up a fist sized hole. I'm fairly proud of having rescued it, as it's what got me to pick up said game in the first place.
I also got a light up keyboard from a friend and new headphones from my mom. I have yet to get my one game from her though, hopefully it gets sorted out soon! (Mohawk for the SNES if anyone's curious.)
So all in all it was a very merry Christmas for me this year, full of surprises and unexpected gifts. I'm looking forward to the next!

Re: Merry Christmas!
I think there is a problem with how the banner is displayed, does anyone else have the same problem or is it just me?

Thanks, now it looks better, however there is still a part to the left that appears cropped, I wonder what happened.EdgeRabbit wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2024 6:58 pm Oh yeah! I didnt even know it changed! You just gotta click Ctrl + Shift + R to reset the page!![]()

Re: Merry Christmas!
Ooh, the Christmas banner is here! It looks fantastic!
I love the black silhouettes on the night sky with the aurora borealis caused by steaming hams and all the colorful Lums in the trees, it's incredibly pleasing to look at. I take it that it's a Christmas themed Robo-Pirate invasion of the Bog of Murk gone hilariously wrong, right?

Ooh, the Christmas banner!
I highly appreciate that you went of your way to sneak into Seymour Skinner's kitchen and take such a beautiful picture inside!

Re: Merry Christmas!
Here is the full version of the banner.
The idea was that someone spread the fake news that there will be a "Free Christmas Party" at Razoff's place, that's why there are Robo-pIrates, Hoodlums, Begoniax and even Rayman showing up there. Of course, Razoff is not happy with that, so he is ready to defend his mansion XD. It was inspired by Hoodcom's idea of a "robo pirate dressed up as santa, on a rooftop by a chimney".
The aurora borealis was just a random thing that was added to try to make the image more colorful.
