I don't see a problem with the storytelling of the first three games. The stories are very simple, but at least you know what's going on. That's not the case for Origins. The Jonster wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 7:09 pm I think we've established at this point that storytelling has almost never been a very strong point in the Rayman series. At least from what I remember anyways

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
So... Very unpopular opinion I'd assume but I like he R1-R2 rayman designs the most.
I'm pretty much only bringing this up because our man Ray apparently got into Astrobot! He pretty much uses the R2 design (skin eyebrows and everything!)
I love his palm tree hair so much, I know why they cut it (to make R3 EDGY!!!! and COOL!!), but it's really iconic! We might be seeing a comeback with the older designs rather than spiky hair and hoodies

It's not really a hot take, as the topic name states it's just an unpopular one. I don't hear a lot of people favor the older designs; they mainly favor R3-current

I really like the design of his beautiful, pixelated 32-bit world, but I also love the luscious cel shading of rayman legends
Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
Honestly, i think they are both pretty good!
And i kind of miss the bandana, it looked really nice on him.

32-bit world? That's a new one… I think you'll find that all modern graphics hardware and software uses 32-bit colour, since the human eye cannot perceive anything finerGreengoop wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 9:16 am I really like the design of his beautiful, pixelated 32-bit world, but I also love the luscious cel shading of rayman legends

Yeah, learned that in computing class yesterday, coincidentally! I mean the amount of pixels within each sprite

Not to be a nerd, buuuuut Origins is cel-shaded lol, Legends is purely just painted.Greengoop wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 9:16 am I really like the design of his beautiful, pixelated 32-bit world, but I also love the luscious cel shading of rayman legends
But I have to admit every time I see the Origins style my mouth is left agape and I just gotta stare for like a good few minutes. SUUUUPER pretty.
Also, is this actually why they removed the scarf lol? I just assumed they changed it up for a hoodie to make R3 Ray look more badass
Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
Origins is really pretty! I always see people praising the Legends artstyle, i mean yeah it is nice looking, but there’s just something about the Origins artstyle that i just can’t help but love.
It always reminded me of sparkling water, for some weird reason

What does the amount of pixels per sprite have to do with bitness? The indexing?Greengoop wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 3:03 pm Yeah, learned that in computing class yesterday, coincidentally! I mean the amount of pixels within each sprite

Very instructive, turns out Rayman was born in "Montipellier". I didn't even know about that city.

Presumably, considering people refer to “8bit” and “16bit” eras, but maybe I just used the wrong terminologyPluMGMK wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 6:28 pm What does the amount of pixels per sprite have to do with bitness? The indexing?
