You're right, I read your post too fast and thought you said Japanese speaking members (which seemed more relevant in the context of translating Japanese text)!

You might just be better at games than the average player. I felt the same as you when I first showed up online, I had no idea people thought Rayman 1 was a hard game, but I guess I played a lot of very hard games as a kid.

What, don’t tell me you failed at Pink Plant Woods too??? In any case I wouldn’t given how you mentioned to me that you ragequit somewhere between Bongo Hills and Picture City, unless I’d forgotten something? :o

Advance is the easier game. If you want the challenge the PS1 brings, go for it! :)

I still have yet to finish Jaguar and Saturn versions myself (have to emulate those sadly)

I've always been a very average player yet I also find that people tend to greatly exaggerate the difficulty of the game. Sure, I was stuck for a bit, but I eventually beat it as a kid so it can't possibly be that hard? :fou2:

My thoughts exactly. There are tons of other games, which I haven't beaten, neither as a kid, nor as an adult.

I had to use the lives cheat to beat Rayman 1 all those years ago, I don't think I'd fare much better today, but I'll concede I haven't had the patience or will to try in a decade.

If all you needed to beat the game is the lives cheat, simply familiarize yourself with the life farming technique (most recommended in Allegro Presto). :D

Actually to be completely accurate, it was actually the continues cheat, not lives 😅

Farming is definitely a viable method, but I don't like farming as a means to compensate, it's effectively busywork. You could make the argument it's the more honest route, but if it's just repetitive action for the same endresult as using cheats, then I'd be more inclined to take the quicker and easier option tbh.

I guess life farming in Allegro Presto only works if you're sure-footed enough not to fall out the bottom of the third map :oops2:
