Re: The You Game!
< thinks cliffhangers are a cheap hook full stop. It’s usually just when movie directors are too lazy to make a proper ending and have to rely on the audience being hooked to get people to watch the (usually garbage) season 2.
Re: The You Game!
< likes them the most when the whole season is garbage, the cliffhanger is garbage and the series is cancelled. Case and point : Taxi Brooklyn. Based on a french cult classic, goes nowhere, teases a huge season 2, which is nowhere to be seen.
< released a new video yesterday, reviewing the movie of one of <'s icon, which then < sketched : Then < got naughty and stole the concept of an OC from a girl who ghosted < after many days of discussions on Tinder because the concept was great. At least < will get something out of this conversation.

Re: The You Game!
< is reminded of another cheap trick < hates in movies: dreams. Like, the director comes up with a scene, only it doesn't make any sense plot-wise so they decide to stuff it into a dream, making it essentially useless and a rather frustrating experience for the viewer.Greengoop wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:28 am < thinks cliffhangers are a cheap hook full stop. Re: The You Game!
< Agrees completely, the cliffhanger is only made worse by the 3 year gap between seasons 1 and 2.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:57 am< doesn't know about Silo but Severance was recommended by a friend, < should get to it.Rsandee wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:00 pm < is doing very well and < is gonna watch the last ep of season 2 of Silo and the first ep of season 2 of Severance tonight!
< says the cliffhangers are <'s main complaint about the season, they just feel a bit cheap and artificial.Rsandee wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:49 pm < just finished season 2 yesterday and yes, unfortunately season 2 ends with a cliffhanger
Guess they split the season in half and season 3 is the second half.
< Recommends Severance too, < recommends knowing as little about the show as possible before giving it a try.
Here's the intro, it's so good < immediately gave the show a try.

Re: The You Game!
< recently received a new Wii from <'s sister to replace the one that < gave to <'s cousin. Thankfully it's compatible with the GameCube games < has so <'s relieved that it's not a dealbreaker for <, since it seems to be in very good condition (and it was in its box). <'s been testing it to make sure it works well, since < doesn't want to have to return it and search for yet another one.
Re: The You Game!
After a whole week of no fat, no sugar to allievate the weight I gained during the holidays, < went to KFC after a tumultuous game < was supposed to ref but got cancelled by us because the field was frozen.
< immediately got stomach cramps, and < had to drive home 150km. Fortunately no crises while driving.

< can only imagine that it was a case of a vengeful chicken getting back at you? You ate the dude after all.
Re: The You Game!
< cannot tell. The other referee < was eating with told me afterwards that he felt his chicken was not really cooked, bu <'s felt fine.

Re: The You Game!
< had a feeling this morning that the universe is winking at < (an expression which < got from the latest Jack Reacher novel). < was listening to
Furthermore, < also listened to "Aw Shoot!" by CMAT while working on the same thing last night, and then that same song was played on the radio while < was driving to work this morning!
last night while working on quite a large edit in <'s browser, for something < had previously lost quite a bit of work on. But < evidently hadn't yet "learned sometime" because the browser proceeded to lock up when < was almost done and < again lost a load of work!

< literally just realised that it’s called a headcanon because it’s canon in your head, not because it goes off in your head like a canon
Re: The You Game!
< wonders what is ^'s biggest headcanon.

Re: The You Game!
<'s headcanon is that Globox is the most wise, intelligent and powerful being in the Rayman franchise, and that he's so powerful and wise that he knows he doesn't need to do anything at all and can just lay back and let Rayman do all the work.
< literally just made that up but that doesn't matter.

Re: The You Game!
< likes to think of MDK's chain gun sniper helmet as a literal interpretation of a head cannon.Greengoop wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:01 pm < literally just realised that it’s called a headcanon because it’s canon in your head, not because it goes off in your head like a canon![]()
< has lots of head canons for the games < likes, mostly because < thinks way too much into things and tries to make sense out of <'s nonsense
< also finds the Globox theory to be strangely plausible. < thought the same thing about Wilbur in Evil Twin. Never walks or moves in game, but he's vitally important as the game's save function, and < feels like there's a reason he stayed on the sidelines (aside from having to fetch Cyprien from any mishaps by the player). He could've probably handled things on his own, but knows that Cyprien has to fight his own battles if he's ever going to change his outlook and make amends.

Re: The You Game!
< feels the need to point out that the weapon is always "cannon" and the story thing is always "canon". The two words are pronounced the same but not interchangeable.
Re: The You Game!
< relates to that, too!ChronicTraitor wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 7:33 pm < has lots of head cannons for the games < likes, mostly because < thinks way too much into things and tries to make sense out of <'s nonsense![]()
<‘s personal headcanons are that Magician and Betilla like to host tea parties together, and that Ales makes some of his robots with scraps of Robo Pirates (that he randomly found, somehow)
< thinks that’s an awesome headcanon… But what if Globox was actually Polokus all along, and Globox acts like some kind of disguise he uses so he can communicate with and overlook Glade inhabitants, without them noticing!Rsandee wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:34 pm <'s headcanon is that Globox is the most wise, intelligent and powerful being in the Rayman franchise, and that he's so powerful and wise that he knows he doesn't need to do anything at all and can just lay back and let Rayman do all the work.

Oh? < asks what happened to ^'s supposed headcanon of "rayman's games take place in different islands in the universe"?Greengoop wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:28 pm < doesn’t really have one, < just realised it subconsciously while watching a video about how shipping sucks

Re: The You Game!
< just realized they meant to write canon the second time in their post and totally missed it. (< has lots of head cannons for the games < likes)PluMGMK wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 7:52 pm < feels the need to point out that the weapon is always "cannon" and the story thing is always "canon". It was a busy morning for <, okay?
The first time was meant as a joke towards MDK, as the 'cannon' in question is fixed to the player's face, so that misspelling was intentional.
Seeing as editing isn't really allowed post-post, < probably can't go back to fix it now.

Re: The You Game!
Ah yes! Or <‘s classic “each rayman game takes place in a different universe”, or even better; “Ubisoft didn’t give a damn about lore and just wanted to make the games fun and cool! The Jonster wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 9:17 pmOh? < asks what happened to ^'s supposed headcanon of "rayman's games take place in different islands in the universe"?Greengoop wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:28 pm < doesn’t really have one, < just realised it subconsciously while watching a video about how shipping sucks![]()
