I'd often be given some wine or champagne at special dinners, and a few times I've had a beer or a shot or two at parties. Nothing much though, I never really got drunk-drunk until I was 20 or so.

A lot of people don't realise it's technically poisoning themselves either, but the funny thing is it doesn't stop us who do from having a drink anyway. Though really the idea some have went as far as getting alcohol poisoning from excessive drinking is kind of crazy. I don't know how anyone can get to that point.

Well back in the day (middle ages or earlier), beer was a sure way to have a drink without getting bacterial infections from unclean drinking water so in Europe we are very resistant to alcohol compared to other regions that drank more tea. The stoned ape theory and other scientific theories also imply we want to inebriate ourselves to "grow" mentally or spiritually and to see things from different perspectives, or to just live a little. Though that probably doesn't apply to the people you're talking about.

Haha. To be fair I normally don't go crazy these days. I like to have a few beers but I usually just do it while sitting watching TV or programming etc. At times I go to a few friends or relatives and have a few for a bit of time out, but it's usually still just a few beers without going absolutely crazy. It's just something that's enjoyable or relaxing for the most part. It's kind of interesting about the theory with water though.

This was asked almost five years ago. However, since the people in this forum have changed, I think it would be interesting to know how much you all sleep on a daily basis. Of course, exceptional days (special events, etc.) don't count! Do you sleep as much as a dog, or do you hate sleeping? Tell us about it

If we're going by mean, it's about 6-7 hours. However it varies immensely, there are days where I sleep less than 3, and others where I sleep over 9.

What is a consistent sleep cycle? Can someone share one with me, it'd help plenty.
