Re: The You Game!
< is pretty annoyed right now, since < completely missed a trophy in Deathspank TOV, where you had to talk to a Japanese judge before you fight a boss, which definitely didn’t occur to <‘s action-packed fingers. <‘d personally advise against playing the game if you’re the sort that likes to 100% everything they play, since it has 2 easily missable trophies and 1 relatively common game breaking softlock, all late-game, unlike the first and third games which have mostly milestones for trophies

< knows how ^ feels, having Tales Of Symphonia to eventually get to. < is currently petrified trying to figure out how to not miss anything when < finally starts the dang game. < is bringing siblings along for the ride, so maybe having more eyes will make it easier? (Maybe an online guide would help too...)
< hasn't heard of Deathspank TOV. < wonders if ^ could tell them more, or if < should just look it up.

Re: The You Game!
<‘ll happily explain! It’s a game made by Ron Gilbert (The guy who created Monkey Island) and Hothead Games (A Canadian indie studio which closed down in December 2024
), and is the Second game in the Deathspank series, which is a parody of the Diablo series. Neither of the games are very long, you could probably finish them all in 2 weeks at most if you’re not very good at RPGs, but they’ve all got their own charm to them. <‘d say it’s only beaten by rayman for <‘s favourite series of games, and they are quite similar in the sense that they have a long awaited fourth entry

Re: The You Game!
< does know about Monkey Island at least, it compelled < to buy a shrunken head replica that < used in a Guybrush Halloween costume that year. Unfortunately, it was a handout Halloween on the front lawn that year due to lockdown. (< had a lot of stuff in their shirt that night. A water bottle, a rolled-up piece of paper and 1 banana no one realized < had in there until < got hungry and ate it.Greengoop wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 5:06 pm <‘ll happily explain! < knows about Diablo a little bit too, since <'s brother plays the newest one with his dad which is cool. < wonders how a parody of Diablo would even work. < wonders how the heck Ron got roped into that.
< hopes they make a 4th for ^(^?) someday.

< wonders where <'s cookies are gone.
< has been fairly tired ever since the storm passed through Ireland and < couldn't sleep. It threw < off enough that < just hasn't gotten back on track and is pretty much low in energy etc.

Woah, that’s cool! < really didn’t expect ^ to be a monkey island fanCosmicStrider wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 9:43 pm < does know about Monkey Island at least, it compelled < to buy a shrunken head replica that < used in a Guybrush Halloween costume that year.
< says the gameplay is more or less the same, but the weapons and enemies are more humorous, and so is the art style and dialogue. < wonders how much Ron complied to working as wellCosmicStrider wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 9:43 pm < wonders how a parody of Diablo would even work. < wonders how the heck Ron got roped into that.![]()
< also wishes, but the future is looking pretty grim

Re: The You Game!
< is bananas for at least 2 of the Monkey Island games, being 1 and 4. The 1st one < discovered on <'s now dead iphone's app store in the middle of a high school English class years ago. It was the special edition one, but once < figured out there was an OG pixel mode, < never switched back. Ever.
MI 4 was a birthday gift from Chronic, actually! < had been interested in getting it, and Chronic had been listening! Just like the monkeys. < knows it's...Divisive among most MI fans for having 3D graphics
...But < loved it anyways! All the nods to the other MI games were very cool!
Without actually looking this game up, < is getting the same vibes as West Of Loathing in terms of humor regarding Deathspank. < went a little nuts on WOL a few years back. < might recover from that massive burn out someday and actually finish it, everything got in the way...
< feels bad for ^ that things aren't looking good for a 4th Deathspank entry.

Re: The You Game!
< might check out the special edition of monkey island, since it’s free on PS PLUS. <‘ll definitely have to check out the pixel mode as well!
Upon looking it up, < doesn’t really see much in common between WOL and Deathspank, though < can see how it’d be similar in terms of it being top-down and visually looking like it’d fit the crude humour of DS very well.
< thanks ^ for ^’s shared sadness. The problem is definitely the fact that it is certainly a once in a lifetime (or thrice in a lifetime, I guess
) game, < doesn’t see any games like it at the moment, and < doubts that there will be any games like it again

Re: The You Game!
< says those days would be good times when ^^^^ could use some tea!
In contrast, < has actually been having relatively good sleep lately, aside from the bad sleeping/waking up times, so < always can make the most of <'s day in how < feeks is productive.
.....
<'s method of switching to OneNote instead of <'s phone camera is really helping < remember which books < has polished off. So < doesn't have to check them out again. < has recently found out that there is a cap of 50 library books. Which to no surprise < has somehow hit.

Re: The You Game!
Heh, funnily enough, <'s friends have gotten < into both at the same time. More funny was that they got < into Severance last year, so that long wait most folks had to endure between Season 1 and 2...was just about a month for <. < hears Season 2 will end up with another cliffhanger, so <'ll probably understand that feeling soon enough. <'s already wondering how long it'll take for Season 3 of Silo xD.Rsandee wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:17 pm< Agrees completely, the cliffhanger is only made worse by the 3 year gap between seasons 1 and 2.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:57 am< doesn't know about Silo but Severance was recommended by a friend, < should get to it.Rsandee wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:00 pm < is doing very well and < is gonna watch the last ep of season 2 of Silo and the first ep of season 2 of Severance tonight!
< says the cliffhangers are <'s main complaint about the season, they just feel a bit cheap and artificial.Rsandee wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:49 pm < just finished season 2 yesterday and yes, unfortunately season 2 ends with a cliffhanger
Guess they split the season in half and season 3 is the second half.
< Recommends Severance too, < recommends knowing as little about the show as possible before giving it a try.
Here's the intro, it's so good < immediately gave the show a try.
Only issue is <'s friends insist on watching it as soon as it airs, which is late in the night so <'s usually a bit braindead when we watch it...

< also started watching Severance after being reminded by Rsandee, < is finding it very interesting so far!

< is excited for the new episode today, and wow the new season intro is even better than the last one.Hunchman801 wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2025 5:17 pm < also started watching Severance after being reminded by Rsandee, < is finding it very interesting so far!

Oh yeah, < loves just how unsettling and yet absolutely engrossing it is. < Is curious as to where things are leading, <'s particularly intrigued about Mrs Selvig's motivations and background and hopes we'll find out more.

It's as dead as <'s current will to live.
< needs a break, just a nice long break.

< appreciates ^'s sentiment, the past month has hit < with a few unexpected and life-altering shocks and <'s not been having the best of times having to adjust and having to deal with the fallout.

< hopes ^ pulls through, as ^'s situation sounds very rough. < also hopes ^'s recovery break helps them assess and work through the shocks.
