I don't think I'll have free time tomorrow. Since nobody answered the question in almost 24h, I think it's time to move on.

Question 12
Japan is considered an enemy for North Korea, which shares border with South Korea, China and Russia. Which one is the last major Russian city before reaching the border with North Korea?
And... Time for the bonus question!
Bonus question 1
Antoine and Jacob are two college students living in the same apartment. They both have to get to class at 9:00, but they go separately.
Antoine: He woke up at 7:30 in the morning. He had a leisurely breakfast, got dressed and left the house at 8:20. He drives calmly, at an average of 35 km/h in the city for 6min30sec and at an average of 100 km/h on the highway for 23km. Leaving the highway, he drives the rest of the way at an average of 80 km/h.
Jacob: he fell asleep and was awakened by the noises made by Antoine at 8:15. He quickly gets ready and leaves home at 8:35. His average speed before getting on the highway is 55 km/h; on the highway he has been driving at 150 km/h all the time, and he drives at 100 km/h on the way to the university.
Knowing that the distance between the apartment and the university is 35 km, the question is…
Do they both arrive on time? Calculate the exact hour Antoine and Jacob arrive to the university.
Give me the solution of this problem, no matter if it’s typed or written by hand.

Regular question : I'll guess 2nd
Bonus question : according to my calculation (who are worth their worth and lord knows I'm highly susceptible to dumb miscues), both Antoine and Jacob arrive on time.
Antoine's description allows us to deduce that the uni is approximately 8.2km away from the highway.
Based on that, we can calculate the time for every segment of both students, which would make Antoine arrive at 8h36min and approximately 27s, while Jacob would arrive at 8h53min and approximately 16s.
Calculations : It was fun putting everything to the test. Looking forward to where I went wrong.

Okay, this is correct! USA won, with Shaquille O'Neal being the MVP.
Russia didn't win, but the URSS did.
And this is correct too! You did all the calculations properly, but it isn't 8h36min, it's 8h46min. I'll take it as valid because all the previous steps are correct.Pirez wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 9:55 pmBonus question : according to my calculation (who are worth their worth and lord knows I'm highly susceptible to dumb miscues), both Antoine and Jacob arrive on time.

I gotta be honest here, I knew the total distance because it's more or less what I drive on a daily basis, but I invented the rest of the data so I had to do the calculations too. Here's how I solved it if you're curious about finding differences.

Question 14
During the COVID pandemic, Russia developed a vaccine (Sputnik V) parallel to the United States (Comirnaty). Sputnik V was based on a more “traditional” methodology, and Comirnaty was a fairly novel vaccine because it used “mRNA technology,” something that hadn’t been heard of much. In the context of biology, what is mRNA and what is its function?

Messenger RNA (mRNA) encodes what amino acids (and therefore what proteins) will be manufactured by the ribosomes in your body. It has the opposite genetic code of DNA upon transcription (A <-> T, C <-> G), with the caveat that Thymine (T) in mRNA is actually Uracil (U).

In really, the photo was taken by a PhD student. However, his supervisor, a women, is more popular. I'll take as valid any of these names.
Of course, all of you can try again.
