Good, I can go set some cheesecake and eat it in peace without worrying :D

Although, red velvet cake with cream cheese icing? So tantalizing…

Oh no that sounds sad.. but how come you decided to start this diet?
Cakes, like any other kind of food can be included in a healthy diet if consumed not too often in the right amounts! :D

For cosplay, actually! I can already see my stomach getting tighter from all the exercise and I guess I wanted my diet to reflect that as well :yeah: It's a wonder what exercise can do to boost your self esteem and overall health, even if for me it was a silly reason like cosplay. You're right, though. Moderation is key! Maybe this weekend I will be able to get something small and sweet while I am out.

Haha I was similar during the covid years, ended up losing a fair amount and was happy to do more cosplaying back then. Alas, recent stresses (and probably age) have tripped me up, gotta back into it.

Ah no way! You cosplay as well? Can I ask who as? And honestly, it's never too late to pick it back up! I know I'm young saying these but I have seen people in their 60's who can do more pull ups than anyone else on this site haha. have hope!

I've cosplayed as Lie Ren, 9S, the 12th Doctor and a (very badly done) generic Mandalorian (using the Varia Suit colours) in the past. I'm not the best at it (Lie Ren and 9S were bought costumes), but it's a fun thing to do at cons. It's partially why I did 3D printing so I could props and armour, but I'm not the best and we've not gone to cons recently so my drive has waned on that front.

That and the general depression from a whole bunch of IRL issues, but that's neither here nor there I suppose xD. How about yourself, what characters do you tend to do?

You remind me that cosplay is one of the reasons why I want to lose weight!
I am glad that you already see the changes thanks to your new diet! :D

I asked you as I was afraid that you had the idea of a wrong diet, unfortunately is easy to believe in strange and extreme diets found around the internet that are only harmful and the logic behind them is just stupid :(
For example my mom is not vegan or celiac but she eats a lot of vegan and gluten-free food thinking they are healthy as shown in the packaging of the products she buys..
I have nothing about vegan and gluten-free food, everyone can eat them and can be included in a healthy diet, but I do not recommend eating it that often unless you need it like a celiac or vegan person as these products tend to be more expensive than the classic versions..

Ooh from RWBY! And it's crazy hearing someone to refer to Doctor Who in 2025. Such a throw back! Then again, 12 was pretty recent. Was Mandalorian entirely your doing then? Maybe with 3D printed assets?

I really hope you get back into cosplay sometime soon, Master. I just know you'll kick that depression enough to do so again one day. As for me, I've been working on a few, had to stop due to unemployment and finding stable income again. However, I still have plans to complete my Ly cosplay, a cosplay of Lady Amalthea from The Last Unicorn, and A.B.A. from Guilty Gear. Should be fun!

We will see Ganondorf Itzal one day :yeah: don't give up hope! Also I have no idea why your mom eats vegan and gluten-free foods. Usually they have more processed ingredients just to make up for what the person who partakes in the diet is lacking, so she'd be far better off just eating regular foods in moderation. It's hard, but doable!

I've been into Doctor Who since 2008, if you look back at the threads, me and Shroobie used to talk Doctor Who a lot back in our active years, it's a long runner for sure. And yeah a friend got me into RWBY and I really liked Lie Ren as a character, so I ended up cosplaying as him :mryellow:

Mando was printed armour plates yeah, and then tried to velcro the pieces onto a boiler suit...it didn't work out too well, if I were to do it again I'd probably start from scratch and try to put more thought into how to connect the armour plating onto a more suitable under-armour...if I do get back into it.

Ooo a Ly cosplay? That sounds pretty cool, and on point xD. Don't know who the other characters are but I'll look em up.

Ooh Shroobie! I've recently gotten the pleasure to know her through mutual friends in the community! It makes sense she would be a Doctor Who fan

Sounds like you have some drive to fix the Mandalorian! I definitely think it'll be worth the effort for you too. Still, impressive that you 3D printed all of his armor. Sounds like a lot of filament!

Haha thank you. Her wig is complete and body suit is about 25% done, but man those swirls are gonna be a nightmare...I've been learning to sew and how to apply appliques just for it lol

Haha it wasn't all of it, and it was generic so it wasn't Din Djarin in particular just could be a rando Mando xD. But yeah it was a lot of filament, I also tried using PETG for the first time for the helmet, which was an experience.

Oh, I've never really given much thought to the art of wigmaking, I can imagine that's an interesting process. As for sewing, yeah I have attempted in the past but it's not my strong suit 😅

So how are you doing the bodysuit then? Is it a Spandex-like material you're using or something else? And are you sewing on the swirls or is it some form of printing you're doing?

...how did you know about my super secret plan? Was it too obvious that I'd love to do it?
I doubt I'll manage to make one soon but I'll sure start with other cosplays I planned to make, probably one of the first ones I'll craft is a Henchman 800 because well, it looks easier to craft and I love their design!
Maybe pay attention when my costume is ready, because I might come and kidnap your Ly :hinhinhin: (hoping a Rayman cosplayer won't come to save you.. :tssk:)

Gluten-free isn't exactly that healthy either. I remember watching a food scientist video some time ago and she mentions that gluten-free foods usually have less nutrients than the normal counterparts but contain more....undesirable things (like fat, sugar, calories).

After multiple hours, 40$, 30 minutes wasted making a marshmallow fo dant before realizing I cant use it due to the recipent of the cake being muslim, and a broken stand mixer... I present: a cake. Me and a couple friends are throwing a small suprise party for a friend for his birthday tomorrow, and I decided to try making a cake for it! The only other cake I had ever made was a carrot cake, which is fairly different from a regular cake. Never again, this took waayy too much effort. At least it's tasty.

Wait I'm confused : why does being muslim deter you from eating marshmallow?

Because of the gelatin I presume, although I'd say you can get marshmallows without that... As a veggie I have the same problem!
