Bump.
Does anyone know the exact requirements to unlock the Scalding Cascade level? Need to play the level so I can add information about it to its RayWiki article.

I believe you have to rescue all the Teensies before this bonus level is unlocked. I actually haven’t played this game in a long time. Might give this a game a go for the fun of it. While the scoring system here isn’t as developed as much as Rayman 3’s, it still could be a pretty good challenge definitely.

I haven't actually played much of this game yet but I do own it. My plan is to play this game and enjoy it without fixating on the scores. I might give it a go tomorrow since the game and Game Boy are literally in front of me (I'm tired now
). I'll give my full opinion on it once I finish it.

Ugh, I feel myself cringe everytime I see a post I made like this. The Jonster wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 1:38 pm While the scoring system here isn’t as developed as much as Rayman 3’s, it still could be a pretty good challenge definitely.
I'll be honest, the game itself was very meh to me the last time I played years back. The aiming on this game for me feels like total shit, like I could charge a punch, lock on, and STILL miss. The jumping precision is also pretty bad, like sometimes I'll make a jump and I don't end up making the right landing, which has caused a few deaths for me sometimes. The bonus levels are challenging, since they don't have a map and you practically have to grope around blind to find everything, which I really didn't like. There's a scoring system, but it's not like Rayman 3's, you get the same amount of points for each item no matter how much you collect iirc. And there are some other little things here and there that were also pretty so-so to me, but those were the things that bothered me most about the game. However there were a few nice things, like the parts where you got to play as Globox were pretty cool.Steo wrote: Fri Nov 02, 2018 5:40 am I haven't actually played much of this game yet but I do own it. Re: Hoodlums Revenge!
Alright cool. It's the 8 direction thing also that makes it harder since you can't turn the camera and that 8 direction thing is why Rayman 3 is harder to score in without a controller.
I'll give the game a go anyway but I'm not expecting it to be as good as a main series game

Thanks Elite Piranha for helping me find this topic. It's funny this topic was made before the game was out. It's cool to see people's reactions to the game early on. I want to get the game and hopefully I can. I know it isn't everyone's favourite but I would like to play it.

Re: Hoodlums Revenge!
So, it looks like people were disappointed by the game! Not a huge surprise: even though it incorporates interesting elements, the lacklustre gameplay is too big of an issue to ignore.
Re: Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
I've found yet more undiscovered cheats, this time in Hoodlums' Revenge
In order to use these cheats you need to enable the game's debug mode. Do so by holding Left, Up, Select, L and B on the main menu. You'll hear a sound play and the pause menu buttons will now be green instead of gray. I believe this change stays in your save data forever, so be aware of that if doing it on an actual cartridge where you can't reset your save data!
Once the debug mode is enabled you can use the game's cheats. Each cheat is entered on the main menu by holding down buttons:
Debug Info
L + R + Select + Start
This toggles if debug info should show in the game.
Regional
L + Left + Select + Start
This toggles the game's region. You can use this to access all languages in the US version!
Completed Save
Left + Down + Select + Start
This replaces your first save with one named "Marcie" where every level is unlocked, but not completed. This was most likely used during testing and can actually be seen from marketing screenshots.

Nice find! I think the last one would have come in handy when working on the wiki.

Re: Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
Does anyone know how to rip GBA sprites? I can't seem to find any RHR sprites online besides a few of Rayman. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
I’m more curious about why they named the save file Marcie. Is that the name of someone who worked on this game?

Re: Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
Ooh, I can help here! I would believe that is the case, seeing as the Lead Tester's name is Marcel. Marcie was likely their nickname. There's two Marcels in the tester credits, but I'll safely assume the lead got to put their dev file in the game for testing purposes. The Jonster wrote: Mon Oct 21, 2024 4:30 am I’m more curious about why they named the save file Marcie. Re: Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
I read as that Ancel for some reason.

But ah I see, that's a pretty nice easter egg then in that case.
Could make with some good experimenting, since the save doesn't have any levels completed.

No one cares about hoodlums revenge
Hoodlum revenge really deserve more. I can't believe no one has cared like is it really bad? What do you think is the cause? I'm pretty sure it's cause of it only being in GBA. Tell me your opinion

Re: No one cares about hoodlums revenge
I've never played it or seen gameplay for it, so maybe I'm not the best-fitted to talk about this, but I think the expansion of Rayman 3 is cool! Although I think you are correct on the GBA part... I don't hear Game Boys being talked about genuinely ever
It also spawned the catalyst of the Hoodlum's Revenge Quotes Twitter account, which I find hilarious

Re: No one cares about hoodlums revenge
I have it downloaded on Delta emulator, but I’ve never played it before, not interested at all either.
Re: No one cares about hoodlums revenge
It would have get way more attention if you could play it on console. And probably better graphics since it is in a different console but I don't know why they wanted to make a sequel who became spin off over the years on the GBA. I saw gameplay of it but I'm probably gonna use the switch official emulator to play it in the future
Thanks for the topic master

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up… I don't think most people even know this game exists, to be honestfrens wrote: Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:26 am It would have get way more attention if you could play it on console.
Re: No one cares about hoodlums revenge
This is probably the same for all the other GBA Rayman games, Like for some reason Rayman 1 on GBA sounds so weird. It's the same with those java flip phones games like Rayman garden, Cmon who the hell grew up with Rayman garden or any other java Rayman. Why did Ubisoft bother making those like no one plays them.
