It was because of the previously mentioned rated M stuff. Americans thought it was rated M so they had to change it to Rayman Arena. I think Rayman M is a better name, though.

Who knows? Maybe they think Rayman M is just Rayman 1 but... rated M? Though I'm not sure how that would even work.
