explaining my absence.

Hey.

I felt like this needed its own topic because i have a LOT to explain and i felt a need to apologize for some things.

Okay first of all: i disapared near the start of jan.. (couple days before my birthday) as i didnt really feel welcome? Im not sure how to put this but some jokes i saw made me uncomfortable, but i cant police a fourm site i dont mod. The jokes i had problems with were mostly making fun of others and some out dated shit, but i wont push yall to stop since you can't really control.

I had an outburst the day i left after a lot of messages made me stress out, which led to said out burst. It didnt happen here, rather in a GC on discord. My friends suggested to stop going here for my mental health.

However the main reason i came back was to apologize to greengoop.

I basically blamed everything on him for no reason, even things he didnt do. I got defensive over basically nothing, and i now realize i misunderstood his own boundaries as i talked about this PUBLICLY in the comments of my yt channel. He apologized to me on my site, However i also feel like i need to apologize to him for not explaining what i was uncomfortable with.

Im sorry GreenGoop. You dont have to forgive me, but i forgive you.

You don't have to explain your absence. There isn't a participation requirement. You should never feel forced to participate in a community where you don't feel comfortable for whatever reason, but I hope you find it comfortable to stay here.

As I've said many times before - I've always found RPC one of the nicest web communities I've had the chance to participate in. We sometimes underestimate how hard it is to have a community going smoothly with so many different folks from different backgrounds, countries, and age groups! Rayman attracts people of all ages, it seems, and it's a challenge in itself, and one that the community seems to be handling quite well, I'd say!

Sure, sometimes there are edgy or downright silly jokes, but I feel that the absolute majority of interactions is in good faith and good spirits. Very rarely we see people actually try to be mean and/or disruptive and when we do, we try to put a stop to it in a way that itself won't be mean and disruptive.

I believe you and Greengoop can work it out (perhaps you already have). There's room for everyone.

Yeah.. but im glad were clearer now! Miscommunication was a big part of this and this wouldve all been avoided if i hadnt DELETED THAT DAMN PM where i explained my boundaries lol. Glad its all solved!

I just realized that i think another reason why you crossing my boundaries caused such a big reaction out of me is because i think i have a pretty severe case of PTSD and even the slightest stress or bad mood is like the end of the world for my brain for no reason... maybe i should work on that..

A PTSD is definitely something that should be worked on, with the right professional. But what do you mean "I think"? A post-traumatic stress disorder is not something to take lightly, and you should not attempt self-diagnosis. Seek medical advice.

Yeah, i have but they do suspect i have PTSD.. so thats why i say i THINK.. they suspect i have it but i havent been dianosed so thats why im sayin that.

My mums a counsellor and she’s currently working on a course which will let her help people with PTSD, just thought that was a bit relevant.
