Oh wait, actually you can change your password from your control panel, just go to your profile and edit the account settings, and you can change your password. Somehow I read your post as "email" despite me putting password. My bad.

If you don't remember you password, you need to know your username or the email you used for your account to change the password.

Oh and to answer your question about Ting banks. Members create them when they want to keep the Tings they have and maintain their current rank. After all, the only way to lower your Ting count is to donate them to someone else. In general though they're not used for posting (which wouldn't be encouraged anyway for obvious reasons), just for storing Tings. It's how I consistently revolve between the different lum ranks.
