What's your skincare routine?
I apply 50SPF sunscreen daily, moisturise my skin, apply retinol 0.5% every night and practice calorie restriction.

SPF50 daily? I'm assuming you live in a tropical area but wouldn't you need to apply it every two hours for it to be effective in those conditions?

I don't live in a tropical area and I do apply it every two hours. I wear sunscreen because most skin aging is caused by UV rays.Pirez wrote: Wed Apr 23, 2025 7:35 am SPF50 daily? Yeah, it definitely seemed like overkill to me as well. I only use Sunscreen when it’s above 30°C
Re: What's your skincare routine?
I have a very sensitive skin myself (I don't tan, I roast) and have been keen on using it a bit heavyhandedly myself, but most definitely not everyday. Depending on the chemicals that it contains, I think it may cause more problems that it resolve.

I use sunscreen for anti aging and protection against skin cancer and you are exposed to UV all year around even on cloudy days, doctors and dermatologists suggest wearing it every single day as well. I also have to wear it because I use retinol and retinol makes your skin sensitive to the sun.Greengoop wrote: Wed Apr 23, 2025 7:43 am Yeah, it definitely seemed like overkill to me as well. This sounds like something my aunt uses, since she often has to wear a hat when going outside to prevent sunburning, which is why she looks relatively younger despite being 50s.
My skin tends to dry out real easily so I’m trying to make it a habit to moisturise with lotion after showering before I go to bed each night, at the very least.
