That's the spirit!

Huh, <'s impressed that the ice bucket challenge is still ongoing, does it still request folks to donate to ALS charity? That was the initial push behind it wasn't it?

Re: The You Game!
^’d have to record ^ doing it. <‘s gonna put it on <‘s WhatsApp status, though <‘ll nominate a few people here as well
No, < just said the thing got reincarnated as a TikTok challenge.Master wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 5:17 pm Huh, <'s impressed that the ice bucket challenge is still ongoing, does it still request folks to donate to ALS charity? That was the initial push behind it wasn't it?

Ah, < must've missed that post, as ^^ probably can imagine, <'s not on TikTok so <'s not sure of the trends there. < does find it a bit sad though that something that was started as a benevolent endeavour is now just typical (albeit I suppose, benign) trend-chasingGreengoop wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 5:39 pmNo, < just said the thing got reincarnated as a TikTok challenge.Master wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 5:17 pm Huh, <'s impressed that the ice bucket challenge is still ongoing, does it still request folks to donate to ALS charity? Re: The You Game!
< agrees with ^^ for that, but < hopes that good can come out of this like last time was. < says it’s a lot better than a lot of other challenges that have emerged (like the “Blue Whale” one)
< doesn’t use TikTok either, so <‘s gonna put it on <‘s WhatsApp status.

Re: The You Game!
<'s parents have been annoying the hell out of < to read the driver's manual and actually learn how to drive.
< gets It's supposed to help <, however being constantly bombarded makes < want to do it less, + <'s REALLY scared of cars. < gets major paranoia when on bridges, or when a car is driving the same speed as us... or behind us... It's a lot of stuff.
<'s not even sure if he wants to drive...

Fragmentation, of course!Greengoop wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 8:50 pm < is trying to come up with a scenario on how < could be 7 years older than <‘s mum without it being absolutely vile.
…That still doesn’t make a lot of sense, though

Well, <'s parents wants him to learn now, so when it's time he'll already know everything. But < already told them that he'll cross that bridge when he comes to it, to which they replied, "So you don't want to drive?"EdgeRabbit wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 11:43 pm ^ isn’t ^ a couple years away from driving??? Re: The You Game!
Hmm, so when ^'s saying ^'s been pressured to drive, would this be without a provisional license? < isn't sure how it works in other countries, but would ^ be allowed to drive on public roads without a provisional license, or is the intent to learn on private roads?

Re: The You Game!
Sometimes it's less a matter of want rather than need, < supposes. In some areas your ability to do things is very limited if you can't drive. It's a sad state of affairs, but there are a lot of places where car-centric transportation has been the basis of urban design, which puts anyone without a car at a major disadvantage.
That, or you're in the sticks, < imagines public transport is going to be rather lax where there isn't much public to be had in the first place.
