Since when did they put lava there? Well I guess I should hurry up with this ambush before the whole place is swallowed in the molten depths.

Hurry up? What, were you lost in thought?
I suppose so; well I'm back now, so I'll get moving with the attack. Master Kaag won't know what hit him!

If we could get permission from the fan game creators, I'd be on board with that! I could see the soundtracks from The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror, Rayman Redemption, and maybe The Dreamer's Boundary being first in line.

On the topic of Raytunes, how come we still haven't put Rayman Legends' Original Soundtrack on there? Or at least the songs from it that aren't in the current OST? If it's just because it's an officially-released soundtrack by Ubisoft, so was the Collector's Soundtrack for Origins, and we have that on there, so why not this?

Ocean Man - Ween

Sometimes I like to do this fun thing where I focus on the background sounds instead of the vocals- and I think this is the best track to do it with. You miss out on the amazing guitar when you focus mainly on the singer

A better way to experience it would probably be via this:

It sounds straight out of SpongeBob. Which is fitting since it was the end credits for the first movie! :hap:

Master wrote: Mon May 05, 2025 9:15 pm No, but I'd argue there's a major difference between discussing someone else's work as an article would do, opposed to taking it (as would be hosting someone's own work).

Again, I understand that it's a bit rich seeing as that's what RayTunes does, but fans aren't huge conglomerates, and I don't think it's fair on them for us to take their work and host it without their permission.
I didn’t mean that to come out as bitter at all. I was just wondering if we could ask the developers for permission, which we would know was possible in the case of RayFanPedia.
We did bring up a RayTunes implementation back when we released Rayfanpedia and I was in fact one of the firsts to suggest the idea so I'm definitely onboard with this, but yeah, if we're ever going to do that, we better ask for permission, which is something we can easily afford in this case unlike... you know... contacting Ubisoft and having them send us a gentle cease & desist of approval. :noelnoir:
Alternatively, we could just add links to the relevant fan soundtracks or a sort of implementation for the YouTube versions if we're not going to for a proper RayTunes release.

You could argue on the other hand that authors like Ryemanni straight up took many RayTunes files for his fangames (in fact, you can notice it yourself in some of his files which still have the relevant metadata or in his games' the credits), but he most likely asked Droolie for permission himself as he often credited him (and others like Snagglebee) for ripping the soundtracks and worked alongside him on some projects. So, it wouldn't hurt to ask him if anyone is able to!
I'll admit I never asked for permission when it came to making soundtrack videos on Redemption or RDMRT, but I approached it similarly to making gameplay videos/articles on the same games and there's been transformative work like recording the Redemption audio myself when we didn't have the OST yet or making custom loops for the extended versions. Plus a lot of editing for visual effects (which become most visible near videos' final bits) and custom pictures, which isn't like taking the soundtrack from Game Jolt and straight up uploading it as an identical download somewhere. Of course, I always credited him *everywhere* and made it clear from the get go I would delete the videos right away if Ryemanni ever asked me to do so.

As Master implied, RayTunes is indeed a grey area (and one heck of a big one especially nowadays when more publishers care about selling their game music, which is why I'd understand if Droolie won't update it with the Sparks of Hope soundtrack or anything like that :oops2: ).
We're just lucky to be able to feature so much on RayTunes because Ubi happens to just not care about... well, pretty much everything from their past because they're Lazysoft, which is most likely why they never took down Rayman Redemption despite the fact it must have tanked the digital sales of Rayman 1 everywhere. :hap:

Oh, and btw, we spelled it Rayfanpedia, there's nothing special to it, and yes, I have regrets about it :noel:
And what also made it better on Rayfanpedia is that the devs made the articles themselves when it came to their own projects! :mryellow:
Though we still don't have the contribution/approval of some authors like Ryemanni as unrelated people like me or dr_st did the documentation for all his Rayman projects so far.

Back to the music I'm listening to now, may I interest you in the fantastic 2023 full stereo soundtrack for Dark Magician's Reign of Terror which wasn't shared on YouTube before, in another taste of totally no self-promotion? :hap: :oops2:

Weird Al - Everything You Know Is Wrong

I could have posted the actual YouTube video, but this is the true way to listen to EYKIW (although... flash warning). RWappin is a great animator and I love this video + Albuquerque

Also, my favorite line of the song is: "So he lets me into heaven anyway, but I get the room that's next to the noisy ice machine for all eternity" I think it's really amusing that even in heaven he can't catch a break!

An old favorite of mine. Nowadays I see that it reeks of genericness, but I know that I liked this song as a kid.

Fireflies By owl city

This song is very important to me, as it was a very important step into accepting that even if I’m different, that i am still human. This song is now my autism anthem!

I love that song! Whilst I do know that, alongside many other owl city songs, it’s very cheesy, I used to hear it a lot when I was younger and thus it’s quite nostalgic for me as well.

I also love that song! It's rather nostalgic for me too, and it has a good feel to it that makes it fun to sing along to. Something about it makes me feel like I'm flying among the stars...

Alright, enough of this nonsense. Get ready to start... your... N. GINS!

Three Days Grace- Riot

Gotta love the new thumbnail! Also had the idea of writing down the lyrics like this

Code: Select all

If you feel so empty
So used up, so let down
If you feel so angry
So ripped off, so stepped on
You're not the only one refusing to back down
You're not the only one, so get up
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
If you feel so filthy
So dirty, so fucked up
If you feel so walked on
So painful, so pissed off
You're not the only one
Refusing to go down
You're not the only one, so get up
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
If you feel so empty
So used up, so let down
If you feel so angry
Just get up
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot
Let's start a riot
A riot
Let's start a riot

This feels like the kind of music that would play in a cartoon when a character is chasing someone into the sunset, right as the screen irises out.

Speaking of Christophe Héral, I've always taken a liking to the Darktoon Chase tracks from Origins, so here's one now!
