Well < guesses the difference is that those 2 guys were, and still are, really good friends and that ^'s two friends can't seem to stand one another.
But yeah, if something like that happens, < guesses it's just the way things are meant to be and that it's just kinda nature.
< remembers some people < just didn't seem to get along with simply due to "vibes", some people just rub each other the wrong way < guesses.

< always hated that thing where two people won't get along and cause problems for others or make things awkward. < even has some family members who do that, talk about each other all the time and avoid each other, making family events awkward as you can't really "leave one out", even though if they both show up everything is so awkward and tense.

< thinks the issue is it's a balancing act, if you single one person out or another, they could end up upset by the implication and that could very well end up spiralling into further drama. The tension is the trade-off for "keeping the peace," < supposes. Even if it's not the best course of action.

< says we did try that for a while even though it was difficult, but then on New Year's Eve, one of the people started making excuses and went home before the clock hit 12. This lead to it actually escalating as people were basically sick of it. < isn't sure it was ever truly the same after this, but the one who went home early started really overreacting and saying stupid things like "I'm excluding myself from the family", which was dumb. In the end, < thinks it was just settled that they will not go on talking about the other person anymore and just leave it, which is how it should have been in the first place. Both of those should have discussed it instead of anyone else ever having to get involved or hear "sides" etc. It becomes very childish at a certain point.

Anyway, < doesn't like having to deal with things like that. < feels that the others should never try to "drag others into it" per say. < still doesn't know if the person feels uneasy about the others after it, but it did leave a sour taste in <'s mouth how they behaved that night, and the aftermath from it with them going crazy etc.

EDIT: < hopes Greengoop can find a solution for their issue between their friends also.
