< says thanks. < loves it so far, but < still has to finish setting it up and getting used to the new gestures etc. The colours are much less vibrant than <'s old phone, but < knows that a lot of them are just over-saturated and that the iPhone is clearly trying to aim for accurate (likely sRGB) colour gamut. < thinks that seems clear given the recent apps look just as vibrant as <'s old phone, but then clicking into them reduces the saturation again. < assumes it's probably a HDR thing with it having to adapt for SDR, which seems to adjust based on what's open.

< echoes Fifo and says < is glad ^ is having fun with ^'s phone.

< finally has some time to be here today. < wonders how everyone is today? < is holed up in <'s room today as <'s relatives are here again with <'s dog even though she doesn't want <.

< says thanks. < is doing well today. < done some of the recycling earlier, got some Chinese food, and then had a game of darts with <'s dad. < also has dogs that are more interested in others, but they come to < when the others are not here. One is obsessed with <'s dad, the other with <'s mother, another is also obsessed with <'s mother, but just likes being in a room alone when she's not here, and the final dog just kind of wanders wherever he wants to. The one that's obsessed with <'s dad though loves to come into <'s room in the morning after <'s dad goes to work. They just jump up on the bed and go back to sleep, especially if < is there too. Sometimes if < is just at the computer, they will still stay there for hours until <'s dad is home.

< is lowkey functioning on the autism spectrum ( like < has already said) and apparently <‘s school is supposed to help < find a place to stay but < is still nervous…

< thinks that ^ should be fine. < doesn't think the spectrum should be a reason to doubt ^'s self, in fact, < really does think < is on the spectrum too, despite never having a diagnosis. Don't ever let anything like that make you think you aren't capable, you are capable of anything.

Thanks ^! But < is mostly worried because < can’t live alone and < doesn’t know who < is gonna room mate with! < is thinking maybe someone who’s majoring in autism research so they can get first hand experience?

Yeah < forgot that since it's a spectrum it can vary so wildly that some need others to help them out etc. < isn't like that, but < definitely exhibits several traits within the spectrum. < can't stand loud noises for example and < feels like < got worse with it lately. If it's a constant loud noise < can tolerate it better, but it depends on the pitch and other factors too. < really doesn't like when the noise will be unexpected, and it makes < really dislike fireworks and balloons etc.

Now this is something < definitely wants to have. Though < feels the earbuds < has does a great job of preventing < from hearing almost anything already.

Especially when somebody is stroking/scratching their surface, it’s so unsettling and < feels like it’s going to pop any second now

Oh no <’s exactly like that, especially with hammer-action drills, power tools, etc. Just thinking of the intense roar of the hammer action gives < anxiety. Having to get close to one whilst in action makes < act like a scaredy-cat. Also < gets startled really easily – < sometimes literally jerks when somebody unexpectedly starts using a noisy power tool nearby.

Having to get close to one whilst in action makes < act like a scaredy-cat. Also < gets startled really easily – < sometimes literally jerks when somebody unexpectedly starts using a noisy power tool nearby.

< doesn’t like those if it impacts < directly, but otherwise < has no problem with them being loud.

< had somewhat of an experience with a power tool a few days ago. < got up early due to contractors showing up to the house (fixing foundation) and after eating breakfast < was about to go back to sleep when a drill suddenly turned on downstairs in the backyard. < wasn’t bothered with it…until the noise started shaking the house upstairs. Naturally < ended up not sleeping til later and had very broken sleep that day and < felt more annoyed than startled.
