I’m really drawn to Wobbuffets! Love their >m< faces :hap:
Another one is Chikorita, i was really surprised when i heard they were kind of hated.. I mean, just look at it! How can you hate this adorable, potato-shaped creature, with an enormous leaf on their head?

I like Munchlax! Though I don’t think any Pokémon designs are insanely stunning :|

Zubat is very weak, and even though Crobat is not a powerhouse he's very decent with a diverse moveset, also he benefits from high-crit-percentage attacks and is one of the speediest. Plus access to status moves for confusion and of course poison. Also he's slick as hell

My favorite is Quilava. I have it tattooed on me :D (alongside Totodile, Meganium, Espeon and Umbreon, but the firy hedgehog is muh fave)

Does that mean Gen 2 is your favorite generation?

My favorite Eeveelution is most definitely Jolteon, but I like Umbreon, Espeon, and Sylveon too!

Gen 2 is definitely my favorite.

But I wonder how much of it is due to nostalgia. There's that meme stating that your favorite generation is the one that came out where you were 11, and effectively Gold and Silver (and also HG/SS but to a lesser extent) have serious balancing issues in the late game.

But at least it's not Hoenn. You can't really say what you think about Hoenn, you'll get cancel-cultured

Jokes on whoever started that meme, my favourite generation is Gen 5 (and my first was Gen 4) and I was in my teens when Gen 5 came out.

If I went by this logic, curiously gen 3 would be my favorite generation!

….but it’s not.

My first was gen 2, then I played gen 3, and then gen 1. After a long period I did gen 8, and then gen 9. Needless to say, I played way out of order but oddly I know some Pokémon from every generation, thanks to the recent games and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. I want to start on gens 4-6 at some point too.

I'm a little biased, but if I were to recommend a Generation between 4-6, it'd be 5. I'll admit I've not played 6, so this opinion is partially formed by hearsay, but I feel like Gen 5 felt like it was the last time Game Freak had the time and capability to properly "cook" as it were. Gen 4 was great, but being on the same hardware, Gen 5 could refine and expand on what Gen 4 did, and it's impressive just how much more detailed and improved Gen 5 is compared to Gen 4 bearing that in mind.

Gen 6 from what I've seen, never really got the chance to properly shine, from what I've heard and seen it felt like all of Gen 6's games felt like they were missing a little something. Gen 7 wasn't much better mind...

I'd get Gen 9 at this point simply because it's still the current generation, Gen 8's fun but it's not going to be as active. A good chunk of modern Pokemon is tied to raids and online experiences, might as well go for the one which is going to have more online players in such a case.

Generation 8 will probably be cheaper second hand at this point.

Also I really enjoyed Pokémon Sw/Sh, and Sc/Vi not so much. You can also encounter a gardevoir in one of the first areas as well, just they are really overleveled I think!

I'd be careful, Pokemon games are weird when it comes to the second hand market, you may find that there's not as much difference betwen SwSh and SV.
