< should finish <'s art project. its about Antonio Prohías! <'s favourite artist!

Re: The You Game!
< has never heard of that artist, but after searching a bit, yeah, it’s the Spy Vs Spy artist, and < isn’t that all too surprised
< is not judging that, though. < also got a favorite artist who did work on the <‘s fandom source material. (< is struggling to make this sound correct..)

Re: The You Game!
< finds Antonio's story to be quite sad. < recomends reading up on it!
Re: The You Game!
Welp, < gave it a try, but Game Maker Studio made it perfectly clear that a lot of coding practices had changed since 2020, and as such the game wouldn't run, for reason < can't explain.Master wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 12:58 pm < thinks ^ should look at the code, for the bants.
< thinks <'s phone should stop autocorrecting bants as bangs. That's just inappropriate.
No matter, < still has the designs in <'s head and maybe < will try to pick up GMS again with a smaller project.

^ reminds < that < needs to start work on <'s Rayman fangame project again. < is thinking of animating the game in the same way R1 is.

Ahh, new SDK, new paradigms. < wonders if there's any utilties that can do conversions, but either ways, < hopes you'll be able to kick off a new project a little easier if the new stuff is free.Pirez wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 7:02 pmWelp, < gave it a try, but Game Maker Studio made it perfectly clear that a lot of coding practices had changed since 2020, and as such the game wouldn't run, for reason < can't explain.Master wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 12:58 pm < thinks ^ should look at the code, for the bants.

Re: The You Game!
What was certain is <'s project was a bit too big in scope for a debut, even though < knows coding.
It featured modulable menus and dynamic UIs. Some scope is definitely needed here
But < most definitely can't do simple. Everything is always convoluted in <'s head.

Re: The You Game!
Yeah, it's one thing having ideas, actually having to sit down and try and figure out a way to put those ideas into practice is a whole endeavour on its own. It's one of the reasons why despite the fact < doesn't particularly enjoy doing documentation work, < does find it easier for <self to do things if < sits down and draws out plans and thinks through <'s ideas and problems.
Even though <'d probably be happier to just fire up some software or tools and get stuck in xD

< is reading through some older posts in the religion thread. <‘s glad the average intellect on this forum today is much higher than it was 10-15 years ago.

Re: The You Game!
< wonders if that's down to the average age of the active userbase trending upwards. Bear in mind a lot of us who were majority active were teens, while it's true that's the case now, I suspect the upper end of the age range when it comes to active users is also higher.

Re: The You Game!
< says that the average age on this forum currently is probably around 21, whilst it was more like 15 back in 2010-2012. At least it’s not 90% aged 12 like it was in 2004!

Re: The You Game!
< says it was a S’mores sundae, and it was chocolate and vanilla gelato with whipped cream, a teacake, a wafer and biscuit crumbs.
