< is probably gonna go get therapy lmao

Re: The You Game!
< knows from having anxiety that overthinking is the worst thing you can ever do. It's always easier said than done, but < would recommend trying to distract ^'s self by doing something whenever ^ feels that way. It can be anything simple, playing a game, reading something, working on a project, etc. Anything little like that which can take your mind off "thinking the worst" really does help a lot. < has had plenty of times where focusing on trying to solve something would make < feel better almost instantly, and < would just be enjoying the simple things again.

Re: The You Game!
< overthinks lightly from time to time, but < gets really bad bursts of it every 3-6 months or so where it’s quite literally the worst thing ever. < thinks OCD is the worst thing a person can have, and <‘s glad < is only affected lightly.

Re: The You Game!
< first language is french, and < knows english. < is learning kanienʼkéha.
Re: The You Game!
< thinks that's very cool! Why the interest in kanienʼkéha though if < may ask?
< Is a language enthousiast as well so if there is no particular reason < understands.
< Has been learning Turkish for about a year now, but < may go back to French/Italian/Mandarin at some point just to get a break from it or change the monotony.

Re: The You Game!
< says < is of Mohawk descent, and wants to attempt to keep the language alive somewhere on the net!
Re: The You Game!
< loves that and can only encourage that
< is sad to see a language go extinct, because with it a ton of culture and tradition goes missing as well.

Re: The You Game!
< is having lots of fun on linux! However < cant figure out the RCP download and wine...
Re: The You Game!
Honestly, and really just honestly as < doesn't like to exaggerate or anything, but < finds Mandarin to be a lot easier as its reputation suggests.
< Thinks only the writing system is difficult, and if ^ would like to learn just spoken Mandarin, with a special attention to the tone system ^ might have an easy time as well.
Mandarin grammar is incredibly similar to English, so ^ doesn't even have to learn a different way of thinking.
< Speaks Dutch, English, German and Spanish (semi- in the case of German) fluently and < speaks some Turkish, Russian, French, Swedish and Mandarin.

Re: The You Game!
<‘s impressed by ^’s linguistic capabilities!
< knows a lot of mandarin speakers so < might find learning it slightly useful. Though <‘ll need more to explore the Chinese internet.

Re: The You Game!
Languages clicked for < the more < studied them. < Started on <'s language journey when < was 16 and < tried to at least spend 5 minutes a day either on Duolingo, listening to music or reading some text.
< Thinks learning a language is like a snowball, it goes slowly at first but it ramps up.
Also the more < learns, the more < can compare it to other languages and find commonalities, making the process simpler.

Re: The You Game!
< finds that fun as well, especially when the languages probably aren’t related at all. Indo-Uralic-Altaic confirmed?
< was just thinking of how < can actually write posts in the French and German forums now (albeit with limited vocabulary), and < definitely couldn’t’ve imagined that when < first started learning languages.
