Re: Rayman Legends
I would say the main storyline level types are comparable in length between the two. It is just that Legends has many more "filler/recap" levels which are just one part (princess rescue, music, invaded). These are designed to be more challenging and shorter.

Yeah I think I've expressed my irritation enough times now about folks gnashing their teeth after allowing themselves to get their hopes up for the umpteenth time.
I understand the sentiment, but dear lord desperation ain't a good look.

Re: Rayman Legends
I’ve realised there’s joys in life other than Rayman, so I don’t really get phased when stuff like this happens. (Or doesn’t happen.)
Re: Rayman Legends
I don't think there's anything inherently wrong to get excited for a franchise you love. A lot of us older fans have grown to be more skeptical I suppose, cause we've been through this before and we know about how bad Ubisoft has been with managing their franchises as of late. But the prospect of a new game is hopeful for a lot of people and has engaged the community on social media a lot more.
I do feel bad when rumors without any merit get spread around by big accounts and get fans hyped up though. I've seen this more than ever the past years, with the hype for any new Nintendo Direct, or now Gamescom, which then leads to the inevitable disappointment. This latest rumor was especially sketchy, and posted by an account who has gotten a lot of "leaks" very wrong in the past, so not sure why that was given such a spotlight in the Rayman community. Even the Rayman 3 remaster rumor that is still going around doesn't have much to back it up.
The most I'm holding out hope for myself is the Steambot project, which is 100% real (although based on something I've heard may not be what any of us expect, so we should keep our expectations in check there too) and the N64 version of Rayman 2 potentially coming to Nintendo Switch Online.

Re: Rayman Legends
Indeed, there's nothing wrong with being excited about the future of the series, and my message was only a reminder than all those "leaks" and rumors should be taken with much more care and skepticism than what we're seeing on social media (like PluM said, people are much more reserved here).
I'm not buying the Rayman 3 remake either, and as for Steambot, we shouldn't expect anything huge because Ubisoft Montpellier doesn't have the capacity for another big project right now (at least half the studio must still be working on BGE2). Let's wait for official news, or at least, let's ignore the rumors that have nothing to back them up.

Re: Rayman Legends
Agreed on the not being inherently wrong aspect of getting excited, I will admit I am pretty intrigued as to what will come of this new project in the works.
But it rubs me the wrong way how folks allow themselves to cling onto any iota of possibility, and then react in a very visceral and unpleasant fashion when things don't go as wanted. I'm seeing some of that presently for Kirby Air Riders because there are folks who would much rather it be news about Metroid Prime 4, for example.

Re: Rayman Legends
I'd guess that because of the Purple Lums already giving you twice the Lums, the Lum King wasn't really necessary. It came back in Adventures though!
