Re: Burgers
Note sure why, but I'm slowly liking more and more home-made burgers. Maybe it's my stomach?

Re: Burgers
I think in the UK they have a red bean burger as an alternative in Popeye's so I tried that once and it was fine.
Been a while since I had quorn actually, I had the nuggies on Wednesday and they're good too.

Re: Burgers
I haven't had veggie burgers. Maybe I'll like mushroom ones! I'm curious what quorn is though, is it corn or somethign?
Re: Burgers
Chicken in burger, while not a big no no for me, is a bit tricky because when done correctly the meat is very juicy and tends to slip out of the buns.

Mycoprotein...it's borne of fungus. The Jonster wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 11:40 pm I haven't had veggie burgers. Maybe I'll like mushroom ones! I'm curious what quorn is though, is it corn or somethign?

Re: Burgers
Yeah quorn is mycoprotein from mushrooms and stuff, and it depends on the product it imitates like cocktail sausages for example. Beyonds are more wheat or soya I think, and the one I had today was an own brand ALDI one of the same ilk.

Re: Burgers
Ok, that gives me intrigue to try sometime. I've started getting used to eating pickles!

Re: Burgers
Oh yes, I never used to eat pickles with burgers when I was younger, but damn do they add a nice dimension to the flavour profile.

Re: Burgers
Ironically, I still don't like cucumbers! Makes me wonder though if I would like some vegetables better if they were pickled.

Re: Burgers
Do I dare try one of those big American pickles...?
Re: Burgers
I don't think I ever seen this thread somehow. I just like a quarter pounder and I'd eat anything on a burger (that goes on a burger ofc).
Re: Burgers
I always think that when burgers are advertised as 100% beef, they're the cheapest and most trashiest beef they could find in the dumpster.

Re: Burgers
First time I ever had a burger, I spit it out and actually faked going to the school clinic cuz i hated it. Left a bad impression for awhile

Re: Burgers
Beef tends to shrink too and any time I've done those for my partner I have to ask if he wants one or two. I prefer giving him chicken or fish ones tbh.

Re: Burgers
I used to find Quorn too salty, but now I have their fake chicken escalopes every weekend, and they're quite nice!

My sentiments exactly! Why do we have so many food threads!Pirez wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 11:35 pm Fuck. I'm hungry now. No food past 22PM, that's the rule.
Ain't all that belly fat disappear by divine intervention.

Re: Burgers
This somehow reminds me of always being hungry once I finish the GTA playlist with my friends at midnight. It's a hecking running joke now
Re: Burgers
I doubt any of them are truly 100% beef. If you find nice ones though, they are well, nice.

I've gotten better at ignoring food cravings over the last few months…
