Cairnie wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 11:44 pm Yeah I'm here and in case anyone was wondering, I bought a house this year. We were getting evicted from our shitty mouldy old rented house at around the same time which our former landlord immediately flipped 5 days after we moved, viewed about 10 houses and the right one came about just in the nick of time! Three months of solicitors sodding about, then we've been here for over 5 months now and the headspace couldn't get any better honestly so we're focusing on getting settled and slowing getting back to normal.
Oh my god! I know how things are when it comes to housing cause I keep looking every now and then in a wistful sense. My most sincere congratulations Cairnie!

And also hi to the old faces!

I can say that over here it's very expensive for a house at least, and it's very hard to get them, at least in this area. If you go somewhere out of the way you have more of a chance, but people of course don't want to do that. Personally if I could drive, I wouldn't mind being in a peaceful area lol.

I haven't bought one yet, mostly because renting is not only more convenient but also a much better option financially (where I am) if you're not gonna keep the place for at least ten years. It'll be a different story when I decide to buy something in the countryside.

Also, I'm gonna go to bed soon, but tomorrow I'll be sure to send a reminder to everyone I've already contacted so that they don't forget to pay us a visit. :)

Crikey thanks a lot for the congrats.

Technically the previous house had more floor space mainly from there being a loft converted to two bedrooms, one being a game room and one being a whatever room so here we had to get rid of a few things like the ikea daybed which did its job, but we also have a better garden, a dining room and a garage. Just need the loft insulated and some electrics taken care of and yeah I sure hope for the next 30 years we can be happy, it's already so much better than that mould trap we were in.

Ah so there were some trade-offs, but I suppose you've got the peace of mind in having your own place, and it's not going to kill you slowly nor are you at the mercy of a slum landlord. Hopefully it'll be a fun project doing the place up?

Catch us up on your life

Post by neo »

I'm too lazy to check if there's a similar thread. Yet, tell us about life since the last time you posted here. Tell us how you feel about current events, the world is certainly an interesting place right now. (Not in a good way I think, but oh well) Thanks to Rayman PC, I was able to think more freely. Before I joined, I was probably trying to force myself to believe in my faith. (If you do believe in a certain faith, I respect that) However, I realized I didn't actually believe. Crazy huh? All in all to say, I miss you guys.

How do I feel about current events...? Well it's. Unpredictably chaotic, on the political side of things, I'll just say that.
(This is a nice idea btw)

I haven't forgotten about this place one bit. It is good to be back and see some familiar faces again as well as some new ones here. And to actually be somewhere that is not like the internet.

Never really left the Rayman Community since I still follow people who are Rayman players and speedrunners speedrunning the games and such. I came across a few mods for Rayman 2 which is the Tank controls mod (that one has been around for years). There is a new one which I kinda want to try out where it makes Rayman slide on any ground surface.

It took me a while to realise this.

Earlier I seen "sneak peak" on some video, that was a peak video alright. :P

Come to think of it, my keyboard's arrow keys are all very sticky since I spilled OJ on it (again :mefiant:) so the game would probably be like this for me without any mod :oops2:

Yes, I spilled OJ on my keyboard again, just a few weeks ago. And I'd only finally gotten my down arrow unstuck from the last time :ouin:

At what point does one call it quits and get a new keyboard? :oops2:

If it makes you feel any better my "." button doesn't want to work, and I use that a lot more on here than I would on Discord. :P
