Re: All-Nighter on RPC
And in the end, only I got the bonus. Gosh am I getting used to pulling these? I don't feel very tired at all! Maybe after a good rest today I'll still be fine tomorrow.
Re: All-Nighter on RPC
You are more energetic than me. I really am a grandpa these days. I'm always so tired I'd just stay in bed napping or sleeping as much as possible even though the tiredness will never go away.

Re: All-Nighter on RPC
Ffs I spent half my Sunday in bed and I was really irritable towards my parents for much of it too
Still though, if I hadn't stayed up I'd probably only have posted half as much because I would have taken so long catching up on stuff!

Re: All-Nighter on RPC
I stayed up somewhat, but we'll see how much better I can do. I always get the timing of these record days wrong as well so I can get the full 24 hours of posting.
Re: All-Nighter on RPC
I am not really sure how the all-nighter works. Does the time that you take between posting have something to do with it? But honestly, I did doze off when it was about to hit 6:00 A.M.. lol

Re: All-Nighter on RPC
That's it. If I remember correctly, there shouldn't be a gap of more than 15 minutes between two consecutive posts.R4Y_ANC3L wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 12:30 am I am not really sure how the all-nighter works. Re: All-Nighter on RPC
I think it was 30 minutes, unless I'm remembering wrong. Either way, there is a time limit between posts yes.DaveRattlehead wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 12:38 am That's it. If I remember correctly, there shouldn't be a gap of more than 15 minutes between two consecutive posts.

In general, the moment RD starts, you have to be active from start to finish, and I believe Steo is correct in that the cutoff time for losing the bonus is 30 minutes. So basically you have to make a post at least every 30 minutes. You have to be prepared to stay up for 24 hours, which thankfully I was...until my dad stole half the rations I had preparedPluMGMK wrote:
Curiously, this is the 5th time I have pulled one (and the 3rd straight one) and I am feeling fine now even after one day, so I think I'm getting used to this, why, maybe next year it might just be second nature to me. Perhaps I really do have much more energy than Steo does.

Re: All-Nighter on RPC
This thread reminds me that I need to start going to sleep earlier. I always stay up too late

Re: All-Nighter on RPC
I think that makes you the person with the most all-nighters in the history of RD! We should totally make a leaderboard for that in the record day compilation thread, as well as for RD winners, of course. The Jonster wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 5:31 am Curiously, this is the 5th time I have pulled one (and the 3rd straight one) and I am feeling fine now even after one day, so I think I'm getting used to this, why, maybe next year it might just be second nature to me. Re: All-Nighter on RPC
5 is more times than I'll ever do it anyway. As much as I love this place and would do anything I can to help it out, I'm too old to be staying up all night. I think I did it like 3 times, and that's enough for me. I am traumatised from how horrible I felt every single time I did it. I generally stay up late, but 24 hours is just too much for me, especially when it starts at like 11PM at night in my time zone. I'd have to be literally sleeping all day and then waking up at that time if I was going to do it. Someone several hours behind this might have a very slightly easier errand with it.
What if the event literally started like 12 hours earlier some time? I wonder how that would pan out.

Re: All-Nighter on RPC
There was that time we did it on a Sunday by mistake
So maybe noon Saturday to noon Sunday would be a good idea all right...

Re: All-Nighter on RPC
Well i can tell you if RD were to always happen at noon there I would never do an all-nighter. I would totally fuck up my sleep schedule staying up from 6am - 6am the next day.
Depends on the person. In my case I start at 5-6 pm, so the beginning of the evening, so if I wanted to earn the all-nighter, i'd have to stay up an entire night, and then stay up until evening the next day where as in your case you start halfway through the night and end partway through the next night so you're not spending 12 hours straight in the dark.

I seem to recall you mentioning to me that the first time you did this you were actually up past 40 hours or something. That's something I could never do tbh.Steo wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 5:44 am 5 is more times than I'll ever do it anyway. Re: All-Nighter on RPC
I feel like if it was earlier in the day like that, it would be easier for me. It starts at 11PM in my timezone, so I've already been up for a long time, and then I would have to be up until 11 again. The Jonster wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 10:36 pm Well i can tell you if RD were to always happen at noon there I would never do an all-nighter. Well it's definitely not easy to stay up all night either way, but the earlier in the day it starts for you, the better. If it started close to noon, the all nighter would feel far more doable than it would when it starts at midnight. The Jonster wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 10:36 pm Depends on the person. 47 hours yeah. I got like 2 hours sleep the night before, and no matter how hard I tried, I just could not sleep at all. Then afterwards, my sister randomly wanted to have a drink with me and we tried to play a game for a while, then even after that, I still ended up until 7AM for some reason. Re: All-Nighter on RPC
Next year, maybe, just maybe Jonster could convince me to do an all-nighter for Record Day with him.
Re: All-Nighter on RPC
Do you think someone old and grumpy like me would really stand a chance of staying up all night? I stay up late a lot, but that's only because I also wake up late. 24 hours is another story for me when I'm getting old.
