I need to play more Minecraft, to be honest. I got it, Chronic got it, but we haven't actually really sat down and started doing the whole adventuring bit.
(Myself, I play Enchanted Dragons, but even that was...A bit ago. Yes, I have a Drakengard Caim skin just for it. Of course I do.)
But I really ought to try and sit down and play with my twin, and my bro since he plays it and is really good at Minecraft.

Re: Minecraft
Maybe when Record Day wraps up I'll redo some old custom skins and see about maybe making a world to mess around in. Maybe look for some more mods too. Are there any you recommend?Zarcatus wrote: Sat Aug 30, 2025 4:38 pm There sure is a lot to learn in Minecraft and it's a great outlet for your creativity also: buildings, custom skin, resource packs, mods.
Best of luck with your skins!![]()
I was 14 when I created both videos and pretty nervous about talking in one. But that sure gets much easier when you're older and more experienced. And at least it didn't end up being entirely cringe.
I've made some YouTube videos, no talking or anything, just gameplay of games. That playthrough/guide for Evil Twin took a lot of effort, and maybe it's not perfect, but I'm still very proud of it. Even learned a few new tricks along the way!
Re: Minecraft
I never really played with mods. The only thing I've been using was OptiFine (mainly to improve performance) but I've heard there are better alternatives for newer versions of the game.ChronicTraitor wrote: Sat Aug 30, 2025 7:10 pm Maybe when Record Day wraps up I'll redo some old custom skins and see about maybe making a world to mess around in. Uploading gameplay only to YouTube is more enjoyable overall to me so I can definitely see where you come from. Next up: Minecradt Let's Play?

Oh man, I doubt that'd be a good idea.Zarcatus wrote: Sun Aug 31, 2025 9:38 pm I never really played with mods. The only thing I've been using was OptiFine (mainly to improve performance) but I've heard there are better alternatives for newer versions of the game.

I really only use just the two cosmetic mods I mentioned. They just make it look different visually. Haven't looked at mods lately, might want to see if there's anything new since it's been quite a while.
Re: Minecraft
Yea, you should probably get the basics down first. But there's also something cool about not knowing everything during a Let's Play, at least if you are using a mic.ChronicTraitor wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 9:05 am Oh man, I doubt that'd be a good idea.At least with Evil Twin I know the game inside and out. Minecraft is literally play as you go. No real level structures to memorize and break. But I guess that's what makes it so popular, to be able to hop in and have a brand new adventure, a brand new map to explore and learn. I have a LOT to learn, though at least I can learn with Cosmic when they're not wandering off.

Have you ever used a shaderpack? I can recommend that if you like visual improvements.

I don't actually have a mic, hence why I don't talk in my vids. I prefer no commentary on videos I watch unless it's the point of the channel.Zarcatus wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 12:03 pm Yea, you should probably get the basics down first. I use Mosiac for the textures, and Stellar Graphics for the sky/fog. (Currently, anyway; there's probably way more mods out there that I could go looking at to make the game look nice). A good shaderpack could really bring it all together though, so if you've got any suggestions or suggestions on places to look, I'm all ears! I prefer to keep my mods hassle-free, so I don't really use the more technical mod stuff.
Re: Minecraft
I believe Complementary Shaders is a good one to start with. You've got different profiles like low, medium and high so you can get a feeling for what runs well on your PC. There are also a lot more options than in most other shaderpacks so you can get an idea of what means what if you feel like it.ChronicTraitor wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 3:13 pm I don't actually have a mic, hence why I don't talk in my vids. Re: Minecraft
Looking into some shaders, it seems most need Optifine or Iris, but it seems as simple as just installing one and putting the mod itself in a certain folder. Now if I can find one that works with the Minecraft Launcher's version of Java and doesn't fry my PC, I might be able to find one I like. Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely see about looking into it soon!Zarcatus wrote: Mon Sep 01, 2025 5:21 pm I believe Complementary Shaders is a good one to start with. You're more than welcome.
