Re: Video Games Knowledge Quiz - Season 6 - Master

Post by Pirez »

I'm just posting a message to imagine Master having an anger fit.

I haven't played Deltarune anyway, so even if I could I wouldn't be able to answer the question ^^"

I'm compelled to wonder why I'd be having a fit, makes my life easier if I get answers cause it keeps things moving xD

And all according to keikaku....

----

Ok I think I get it, bait me into thinking there you were trying an answer?
Alas, with no attempts made, I may have to withdraw this one. If I don't get any answers by this time tomorrow we'll move onto another question.

Finally, a question on a franchise I actually played!

The Blue Bunny selling nice cream could be a reference to the Blue Bunny ice cream company
Megalovania is a reused song from Homestuck, so that could be seen as a reference to Homestuck.
The kick starters final tier says that your fantroll in Homestuck becomes canon in Undertale (Not really sure if this one counts, so I'll do another!)
Frisk's design could be seen as a nod to Ness, who also has a striped shirt, and a similar looking sprite in general.

That's not a bad answer, but I was looking for examples solely from Deltarune. I will allow a retry as I probably should've emphasised Deltarune only.

Oh shoot, I completely missed that!

The thrash mech boss fight features a game over screen reminiscent of Punch Out!
There was an Undertale reference in Deltarune with them jumping down a hole in the first minigame in chapter 3. (Along with the Watercooler having the Undertale fight noise, and basically all of the Overworld)
There was a reference to Woody theory with one of the Mike designs in the Mike fight wearing a cowboy hat.
When Susie and Noelle were talking about the horror movie with the chopped off hand, it could be seen as a reference to the fake movie series in Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Theres probably an actual movie about this that I just don't know, and I might just be gaslighting myself into thinking this scene is even real, but oh well!)

Haha I'll take that, some more that I had in mind was Roulx Kaard quoting I M Meen, then him refusing to show you a puzzle in an exchange very similar to the Aurora Borealis exchange in Steamed Hams. And then there's Queen, just Queen xD.

Point to ithasmore, welcome to the game!

QUESTION 12 - What was the name (I'll accept any known name, be it nickname or actual) of the musician who composed music for a good amount of PopCap's early games, such as Bejeweled, Bejeweled 2 and Alchemy?

She did Plants vs Zombies, but I'm talking about earlier era PopCap, like their beginning in the early 00s.

----

Alright not seeing much in the way of other attempts, seeing as it's not really easy to give clues for this one, I'll put up a new question if I don't get an answer by the evening

I have never played Alchemy, but I love the Bejeweled 1+2+3 series.
I believe the person credited with the music of Bejeweled 2 is Skagen (spelling?)
So probably Bejeweled 1 is the same, if you say so. :)
P.S. It was in the game manual, not sure if it ever appears in the game itself.

I'll take that, it was Skaven. And yeah he did all three Bejeweled and also Twist and I think also Live? And Alchemy and a lot of the other early Deluxe PopCap games.

QUESTION 13 - Which video game character was very fond of the Colt Single Action Army, and loved the sensation of reloading it?

----

Not seen any attempts, I'll give a clue. The Colt Single Action Army is a Revolver.

QUESTION 15 - PlatinumGames are well known for their stylish action games, but they've also lent their efforts into making games for franchises they didn't create as well. Name 2 video game franchises (so not franchises like Transformers, TMNT or Korra), that PlatinumGames have made (or are making) games for.

----

Been over a day, and no attempts made. I'll reduce the ask, name 2 game franchises that PlatinumGames have made/are making games for, that they did not originally create. I'll leave this open until tomorrow afternoon, and if we're still struggling, I'll put in a new question.

Alright, I think I'm gonna call time on this question. Answers I would've accepted:
- Metal Gear (Originally by Kojima Studios/Konami, PlatinumGames made Metal Gear Rising)
- Nier (Originally Cavia, PlatinumGames made Nier Automata)
- Star Fox (Originally Nintendo inhouse, PlatinumGames made Star Fox Zero)
- Ninja Gaiden (Various devs, notably Team Ninja, newest one is being made in collaboration with PlatinumGames)
