But in my case I was getting a job, and she was saying I should get it cut short in a typical masculine fashion, nothing ridiculous. But that was anathema to me, and always had been. And she said "it would be so you" when I objected. Maybe it's my voice...

- This reminds me of when I was in school and my hair was a bit past the bottom of my ears and this guy in my class with a short back and sides haircut kept asking me when I would get a haircut and kept saying I should get a haircut. Then I grew my hair out in college and another guy obsessed over me having long hair. I find it so bizarre how people get obsessed over the hair on someone else's head of all things.

Hair seems to be quite a common obsession, I get haircut recommendations all the time. Though what I’d like to do is grow it out a bit more and dye it black.
