I started playing San Andreas again on the PS2. I just randomly set it up with a little CRT I have and thought it would be fun to play it this way. I know it's on PC and other platforms, but the original came out on PS2 and it just feels kind of nostalgic to play it this way.

Thanks man! I haven’t played in a while, but last time I did I entered Lanayru Desert.Rsandee wrote: Wed Sep 17, 2025 3:39 pm Wait until you see the water templeIt's one of my favorite temples in the series. There's another 10/10 temple in that game but I'm not going to mention it because I don't know how to without potentially spoiling anything.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Honestly, I'm one of those people who still prefers having games in physical format. I saw Hollow Knight for a pretty decent price (considering it's not the kind of physical edition you can easily find on a store shelf like an Assassin's Creed, for example), so I decided to give it a tryafter all the buzz around Silksong. First impressions are great, it comes with an alternate cover, a manual, and even a map. Feels like an old-school game release. Finally, something different compared to the current trend of including absolutely nothing...Reese Riverson wrote: Wed Sep 17, 2025 2:41 pmHey that's pretty awesome! It looks really nice too! I haven't had much time these last couple of days, only managed a bit over two hours, but it's already been more than enough to get a feel for what the game's about. I think I've explored pretty much everything in the first area (at least as much as I can for now), though I know I'll need to do some backtracking once I unlock new abilities. The first boss I fought was the False Knight. He wasn't too tough, but that's fair enough since it feels more like a small intro to what's coming later (there's a reason people say this game is tough
What I've enjoyed the most so far is exploring the map at my own pace and gradually piecing together the layout in my head with all the passages and connections between areas. The mechanics are also really smooth and easy to get into.
All in all, I can already tell this is gonna be a game I'll really enjoy.

I’ve been playing hollow knight at a very slow pace too recently. I think I’ve got the hang of things after playing for an hour and a half now though.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I think with a release date finally announced for Prime 4, I will probably begin marathoning the Metroid Prime trilogy next month. Might also give Prime Federation Force a try depending.
For now though, not much. I was in the middle of a ToTK replay but I've lost interest. Open-World games are very good at having a lot to do...but sometimes I fear it can feel like too much. There is some joy to be had in having a more routed experience sometimes.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
We've reached open-world fatigue, just as much as we've reached souls-like fatigue, I'm afraid.
ToTK's open world is very well crafted but now that it's been copy_pasted a million times with anime titties (looking at you Genshin Impact) there's not much to differentiate it from any other game.
As for me, I've reached Act 3 of Silksong. The game was unforgiving until now but oh boy did I get a treat... That being said, the ambiance of the game is still breathtaking. That's what powers me through it, as I've already spoiled myself on what happens at the end.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Eh it probably doesn't help I had done a run of BoTW shortly beforehand to be fair, so the fatigue is likely due to that very reason. I don't particular care for nor pay much attention to the majority of games out there though, I know the Open-World genre is fairly pervasive, but I don't play enough of them. But even so, the most recent one I played that wasn't a replay was Cyberpunk 2077, and I fizzled out on the one pretty quickly. So I dunno, maybe outside of specific exception, the genre just doesn't do it for me?

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I kinda miss non open-world AAA games. Anyway I’ve played a bit more hollow knight recently.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Finished Silksong's true final boss. 47h, 71% completed.
But for now, my blood pressure is allowed to go down, until the DLCs.

Playing Mario Kart Double Dash, again. For the moment while I do some cleaning
Otherwise, Rayman 3 on Dolphin. Finally got started on the 1st out of 20 files for the game (just so i can fill them all hahaha). I already have ideas on what kind of strategy I'll pursue for each file, since i named them all after me, my sister, or Rayman characters.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been playing this more. Again, I haven't been able to play it as much as I would have liked (thanks to my shitty work schedule, with practically the entire morning and afternoon taken up), only about 7 more hours... And the truth is, I'm liking it more and more. It's a very, very traditional game in the best sense of the word, and I LOVE that.DaveRattlehead wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 12:24 amHonestly, I'm one of those people who still prefers having games in physical format. Re: What games are you currently playing?
More a statement of intent rather than what I'm playing right now but I think with the some release dates now being unveiled I've got an idea of what I'll likely be playing in the next months.
This week is when Galaxy 2 finally comes on Switch, I've not played that since the Wii and I've been reluctant to use alternative methods as there are some motion controls that need translation. Seeing how they did Galaxy 1, I'm expecting them to have adapted the controls and it'll be nicer to play.
Still think the asking price is bollocks, but I'm letting my heart override my sense.
With Prime 4 finally having a release date, I want to go through the Prime Trilogy beforehand. I want to time it though so that I finish just before Prime 4's release so it can flow into that. Think I might start that after I'm done with Galaxy 2, though it might be concurrent depending on whether I want to try for 120 stars or not.
I also did want to run through the Jak games, but with OpenGOAL having gone quieter on their Jak 3 progress I might hold off for now. I was planning on running through the games when Jak 3 came out on it but that looks to be further away than I first thought.

I haven't checked on my Tomodachi Life island in a while, so I decided to check back on it a couple days ago... Only to remember that my sister is married to Matt from Wii Sports. Safe to say I've been checking my island a lot more recently.
