Rayman 3 Flash Archive

Post by Madder »

Rayman 3 used to have some obscure Flash stuff, so I decided to go ahead and archive the very few stuff there is out there.

Let me get straight what we're dealing with, aka what Rayman 3 Flash stuff are we talking about.

Rayman 3 Promotional Demo

First off we have this pretty rare and obscure Rayman 3 promotional demo, which uses Flash Player for it's frontend UI, along with stuff for extras and whatnot. The actual demo is hidden away in the disc, but what we care for in this instance is exactly the FLash stuff.

For additional info about the demo itself, as well as downloading it, you can check out its Internet Archive page

The other Rayman 3 Flash thing is even more obscure and forgotten, and therefore worthy of being archived even moreso, and I'm talking about...

Rayman 3 The Shooting Test

Yep, this obscure Rayman 3 Flash fangame (which is apperently official) will finally be archived properly.

Once again, for additional info and downloading the game itself, check out its dedicated Flashpoint page.

Now let's get to the juicy stuff; the actual content itslef.

You can download a small archive of both contents containing all their Flash files, and nothing more.

If you're wondering why the actual content isn't provodied in the folders themselves, that's because both have a sheer amount of stuff in them, and most of their assets are either duplicate or intended ofr other uses, therefore is in another form, or can or should be exported as such, and between all the possible export options, there is not a solution that fits them all, and exporting all stuff in all formats would be beyond redundent. That's why I prefered to only archive the Flash files, aka the actual archives for both FLash content.

But now you'd wonder "ok but how do I actually get the stuff from them then?", it is quite simple actually. You just need a Flash decompiler. The simplest option is JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler, which is free, light, simple and complete, as well as being cross-platform. It takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it it's pretty straightforward. From there, you can extract and customize every single thing of both Flash content, and do whatever you want with them.

I also take the opportunity to inform that if you want to see even more neat and obscure Rayman 3 stuff, as well as other projects around it and whatnot, I have a whole Discord server entierly dedicated to just Rayman 3. There you'll find tons of resources, dedicated entusiasts, fan projects, discoveries, challenges, events, humor and fun. Here's the invite for it: Rayman 3 Discord server (link removed). Anyone who is genuinly passioned about Rayman 3 is welcome, so get into the havoc and start having a blast with people who get it.

Hi Madder! Just want to clarify that it's not really a fangame. Like many Rayman flash games (such as Rayman vs Cullcut), this game was made in collaboration with Ubisoft by and for tfou.fr. It was never translated to English as far as I remember. The English versions of these tfou games were made by me a long time ago and all versions of these games were shared here on RaymanPC. Funny to see the Flashpoint page point to this fanmade English translation. :P

Unfortunately the only Tfou game that was archived on Internet Archive is this rather boring game based on "Rayman 4":

Hi Droolie. Thanks for providing additional infos regarding that FLash game. I wasn't able to find much documentation online, and even on the Flashpoint page it says the actual developer is unkwnown, only that is licensed by Ubisoft. So it was official but didn't know who actually made it. Now I do. Also thanks for the fan translation of all Rayman Flash games; I went with the assumption they were originally released in both french and english, at the very least, but apperently it wasn't the case. And thanks for directly providing the other Rayman Flash games too (including that Rayman 4 one); with the knowledge I shared in this post, users would be able to easly extract and modify asstes from those other Flash games as well.
