That is entirely valid, scoring gets tiring when you've reached a score as high as 800K. Even some of the best scorers, I'm sure would struggle to get higher scores at that stage (it still amazes me that still higher scores were able to be achieved by them though).

I don't think I'll be doing any further scoring. I'm happy to have gotten the score I already did. It's too tedious and time consuming to me to try get more than already having over 800k.

I wish I had the patience to do that, but you guys and Master at least helped me get as far as I am while I streamed it on Discord.

Oh yeah I remember that. I don't even think I'd have the patience for the scoring stuff anymore at this point. It gets frustrating fast when you have to keep restarting the same area and then hope the hoodlums don't do something to ruin the combo etc.

Personally I'm just hoping the ranks don't evolve again on me when I finally had gotten the one I wanted, once I get back to the one I want.

Isn't the You Game the topic with the most pages at this point? Sounds like if you want consistent but steady growth it's a good topic. Probably not the best for quick growth though, but other threads don't tend to have the same longevity...

I think it's a fun thread if you use it properly. Of course, people make new topics from time to time when talking there, but a lot of people still try to interact with one another when possible.

Personally, I don't care about whether people pay attention to me or not when I post, I tend to either join a conversation or talk about other things I'm doing either during the day or week if it's not in use. i don't post there if a conversation is already happening that I either don't want to intrude in or have no interest.

While I can understand the discouragement of low effort posts, I'm not so inclined to agree...I've always seen the You Game as a sort of "shower thoughts" or a thread to just ramble. Granted this is anecdotal, but as a throwaway thread for thoughts or just noting things it's actually helped drum up some conversations that would have felt a bit left field otherwise.

Though I agree that those examples are instances where you are probably pushing it a little.

I guess you could look at it like this to some extent as well, though I generally enjoy trying to respond to people sometimes. I almost feel pluses and minuses or daily doldrums are better for talking about those things, but maybe the latter is more for venting than sharing thoughts. I guess the You Game can be used this way, it's definitely different if someone writes a little paragraph than those examples above. I definitely wouldn't encourage rapid firing without giving much thought though, aside from that, I can see what you mean.

Yeah I think therin lies the rub, the You Game has a far broader scope of topics that you can broach and talk about, whereas +/- and Doldrums are more narrowly focused about certain aspects of our lives, and the format of the former tends to be geared to more succinct posting, whereas the latter is more geared towards grievances than any general manner of discussion.

But ofc that's my perspective, I think as long no-one's taking the piss at the end of the day, s'all good, no?
