What phone do you have?

I think iPads are the one Apple device that I have to begrudginly admit, do it better than any like competitor device. Whereas I think Android phones make a compelling and competitive alternative to iPhones, Android tablets just feel like an afterthought these days, and Android itself does not feel like it's giving much focus to the tablet oriented side of things. iPads on the other hand feel a lot more suited to being tablets, even if, as Steo rightfully says...they're very much capable of being full-blown laptop-equivalents at this point - I suspect that's why they don't put MacOS on there so they don't outright compete with each other.

I personally like Apple because you know what you’re getting with them. High-End android phones are “better” in nearly every way, but they cost a fortune. Low-Enders are rather shite, but they cost about a deep fried creme egg and a 1972 atlas of Wales.

I had to downgrade to an older Moto for a few months because the day after I got the keys to the house my Moto Edge fell out of a pocket and got smashed...then back in the summer it went to a nuclear green flickering mess so I had to get that recycled. I'm currently looking for a new Android phone and I'm not entirely sure if I want another Moto, but also not entirely sure on what other good ones are about and for not too much money.

Relatable, I had one phone smash on the pavement and had to get if repaired as. I wasn given a temp one and told to keep it safe. Come the very last day, k get out of my car at home and I drop it from my pocket and smashes. Needless to say, how to get a new one.

Now my iPhone 14? Dropped it so so many times on the pavement but hasn’t once cracked

Still on a FairPhone 3 from 2021, it hasn't failed me yet (touch wood). I did have to buy a new charging cable recently because the old one became super slow and unreliable (probably because I kept hanging my watch on it ). But now it's charging like clockwork again!

I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max myself and love it a lot.

Even though I used to always bash Apple, I honestly wouldn't mind one of these haha. I still want to get a decent iPad with at least an M1 at some stage, I just feel it will be useful for many reasons. Still kind of a shame they can't just run MacOS even though they would be capable of it, but I guess that's to separate a Mac from an iPad in the first place.

I never updated here, but I of course ended up with an iPhone 16 Pro Max a few months back. I still keep my Androids too, because I like using them for testing stuff etc. My main phone though is the iPhone currently.

I have an iPhone SE or SE 2 (not sure lol) but I think that android is far superior personally (have a Lenovo tablet and tempted to break my phone just to get an android but the phone case is literally indestructible, I’ve smashed it on the floor over 10 times and not even a dent!) decided to see what other phones people have?

Ngl now I’m much happier having an iPhone than an Android phone. Androids can be fun to mess about with but I prefer the practicality of having an iPhone.

Given how Google wants to lock down Android in similar ways to the way Apple does, by disallowing you to install your own apps, which people often just call sideload, you'll have to root your phone just to do anything any more once that's all out.

So I wouldn't be surprised if folks wanted to just use Apple more.

yep. I have an iphone 15. I got it last year, the battery is low-key Garbo. probably because I play Roblox and Cookie Run kingdom on it.

Indeed, given their restrictive nature, I wouldn't want an iPhone either, tbh.

I used to think that for a long time, which is why I didn't want one, but then it seems Android is not that much different anymore, unless you use custom ROMs or something. Then I thought, why not just get something with well optimised software and a ridiculous battery life, so I ended up with the iPhone.

I hated them so much when I first joined here and never thought I'd end up with one of the phones, but it seems that I did.
