< might actually remember this one as well. < thinks the worse one was the ad that warned to "never ever drink and drive", and it showed a kid innocently playing in the back garden with a football. Next of all, the person loses control of the car, it flips over the hedge, hits the kid while it's rolling, and the dad runs out crying and picks up his son (who is basically dead), while the man that did it just stood there full of blood with a "what have I just done" expression. < doesn't even think they'd be allowed to make an ad that gruesome these days.

Great, just as < types this, the ad comes on about the man driving to work every morning (looks like a Groundhog Day reference) and one morning he crashes since he was always speeding on a 60km/h road.

< says thanks. < is just mostly tired from walking, and of course having to control the dogs for about 5km worth of the walking. :P

While < appreciates the importance and the seriousness of the road safety adverts...

< will admit some evoke a macabre sense of amusement, the over-the-topness goes from serious to darkly funny. <'s reminded of the advert where the driver speeds and loses control on a corner and ends up flipping over into a picnic area.

< used to not fully understand why bosses at work (in cartoons) were depicted as intimidating individuals, yelling and losing their cool constantly.

Now that < has been around someone, who is in a position of leadership and is under tremendous amounts of stress, < has a different perspective. When a boss has to deal with solving BIG and complex problems, you don't want to screw up and create more problems that eventually add up to all the stuff the boss has to deal with.

< remembers how the boss' right hand man told us to try to solve the problems of our respective areas internally, to find a solution before they reach the boss.

< thanks everybody today for the support! <'s sister's dog has a torn ligament, so she was sent home with antibiotics and inflammatory medication. We have to bring her back in two weeks though to determine whether she will need surgery or not.

.....

<'s Clearleaf Forest 3 run is ruined. The window closed after < minimized it for a bit and reopened it. Noooooooooo!!!!

Honestly one of the biggest reasons <'d like proper remasters of the 3D titles is because of things like ^ mentioned, where the game window minimising leads to a strong chance of it subsequently crashing.

< is glad to hear the trip to the vet's went reasonably well, and hopes that the need for surgery can be avoided!

Correction: < came home to find it had been delivered! :D Blame the fact that < couldn't seem to get the delivery step descriptions in English on the Polish post's tracker :mefiant:
< got a text from DPD saying the cable will be delivered today. So now <'s dilemma is: should < break out the wire strippers, soldering iron and multimeter tonight, or wait for the weekend? :mefiant:

Considering you're messing with PSU cabling, <'d urge patience and a clear mind, better to wait than have ^ let the magic smoke escape.

< says you’re also going to need solder itself :)

Speaking of which, < hasn’t soldered for a long time—that cassette deck repair < did a few years ago seems to have left a bad impression on <…

You see, < accidentally tore two wires coming from the motor and < had no choice but to resolder them in place. The problem is, < has a cheap soldering iron from Kaufland. < also didn’t have flux so < had a hard time getting solder to liquefy/flow nicely. Luckily < got a nice connection after a while. Even though the joint looks atrocious, < just left it as-is, for it’s working just fine.

That was honestly a good thing. Gave < time to come up with different combos for the phase that worked better and < blew <'s old Clearleaf Forest record (88622) out of the water, with 106529 points. :D
...< loves the Bog of Murk, but < dreads it going into a run like this since < is probably not going to do much better this time around. Maybe < will give an attempt when < gets up later.

.....

< has showered and put betamethasone on <'s neck afterwards and the swelling has gone down to the point where it's not hurting <'s head when < tilts it. This is the first time in months that < has had a flare up this bad. :oops2:

Ooof, <'s had <'s issues with eczema that left < in need of similar treatments, < hasn't had it in the neck though. < hopes ^'s flare up will settle quickly.

< finds it odd to hear Ice-Cream Vans driving around at this time of year, it feels like we're past Ice-Cream season. Althought now that < thinks about it, it'd be kinda cool to have a halloween themed Ice-Cream van...

It's still hot enough down here that < wouldn't find it weird for people to be eating ice cream, and < wouldn't mind havin one. Though < on the other hand has started drinking hot chocolate (just occasionally but more than usual) of all things lately which is probably really weird. :fou:

< feels that it has been hotter here the past few days as well, despite being into October. < thinks the later weeks of September were far colder than it is now.
