In order to better reflect the evolution of our community, we have taken the decision to restructure its team. Here is a summary of the changes:
- The French and English moderators groups will be discontinued and all of their members will become global moderators, allowing them to deal with spam across all sections and ban offenders instantly.
- Our current global moderators, Steo and boomboleros7, will become senior global moderators, a new role with additional user management permissions that will allow them to perform more tasks in the day-to-day management of the forum. While they may focus more on a particular section of the site, they will no longer be specifically assigned to one.
- Administrators will be mostly unaffected, save for the fact that they will also no longer be assigned to a particular section.
- Local moderators (e.g. modding and utilities, German and Russian sections) will not be affected.
In addition to this, I would like to announce two changes to the team:
- ItzalDrake, a member of the English moderators team since September 2023, will step down from his role due to a lack of free time. While we are sad to see him go, he will stay on the forum and remain in close contact with the rest of the team, providing whatever help his schedule will allow him to.
- Reese Riverson, formerly known as Hoodcom, will rejoin the team as an administrator, a role he occupied from March 2017 to August 2019. Prior to that, he was an English moderator from May 2006 to April 2008 and June 2013 to June 2014, and a global moderator from June 2014 to March 2017. He brings a combined 8 years of previous moderation experience on Pirate-Community and, in addition to standard administrative duties, he will continue his tremendous work on the styling of the wiki, the forum and the site in general. Welcome back, Reese!
