Your most epic fail in any Rayman game?
I got to the point in The Echoing Caves where you have to fly with a powder keg and I ALMOST made it to the end where a green lum was but I wasn't fast enough and Rayman exploded...
Now I gotta do it all over again :'D
What's your most epic fail that you totally didn't have to start over on?

Re: Your most epic fail in any Rayman game?
While grinding for my current time on Land of the Livid Dead, a day before I got the run, I would get to the screen with Big Mama. I get onto the arm, and am praying that I don't mess up... Before accidentally jumping off her arm into the lava, ending the run. Couple hours later, I got back to the room. Now even more nervous, I actually do make it past the first phase! This time, I die to jumping off the arm too early! Fast forward 6 hours, I finally make it back again. I tell myself that if I don't make it this time, I'm done for the day. I proceed to die the same way as the first time, and play for an extra couple hours, not getting the run. Im so epic B)

Probably the time I spent an entire meet-up with my friend just trying to beat Hades’ Hand while getting unfathomably angry and having to get him to help. Still sting in second hand embarrassment from that, I was literally 8!
Re: Your most epic fail in any Rayman game?
It's not so much a fail, but the first few times I played Rayman 2, I didn't know you could break those shards on the Cave of Bad Dreams, so during the Jano chase, I was simply trying to avoid them by going around them or jumping over them. I was making the level way harder than it needed to be.

Oh yeah, same here actually! Like, they communicate it well by forcing you to break one to even get to that section, and yet somehow the message failed to get through to either of us!

Re: Your most epic fail in any Rayman game?
A new epic fail from me: I finally got to the Prison Ship, and of course, there's the Flying Shell phase of the level. Again, almost made it to the end and then a laser shot at me, knocking the shell into walk/run mode and I had to time my steering to make it fly again. Unfortunately my timing skills suck, so I died.
This kept happening 5 times lol

Not sure if it's a fail, but at least it's epic?

That's actually something I never seen before! Didn't think a plum could hold an orb...

Yup, that's something I didn't know until last year and cost me a few seconds in the last edition of SpeedRay xDDD

XD Oops! Hopefully you were able to still do the run without any other time cost-causing issues!!

Re: Your most epic fail in any Rayman game?
To be honest things wouldn't have changed that much. If I remember correctly, I still was the fastest amongst the regular players, but the real speedrunners did much, much better xDDD

I'm tempted to try speedrunning at some point tbh. Dunno how I'm gonna do it but hey! Something new to try.

When I grinded out a No Hit Run of Rayman 1, I died on the pan screen which is a part of the final level (here at 5:30):

Re: Your most epic fail in any Rayman game?
I don't know if this can be considered an epic fail due to it being RNG based but...
In a Rayman Arena online match, battle mode at Forgotten Dungeon, there was 30 seconds left on the clock, IIRC, i was one point away from at least getting an extra time, but i had no items.
I was panicking a bit, 20 seconds left, my opponent had 1 hp, so 1 hit should do the job, but i saw no item in sight.
10 seconds, i finally see an item i could grab, i rush to it, and (i think) so does my opponent (i think we had a little fight over it too, but i don't remember properly).
5 seconds, i was finally able to grab the item.
It was a fake generator.
I lost the match :']

Nooooooo, that's definitely an epic RNG fail, the RNG gods have wronged you.Cho-Choo wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 9:04 pm I don't know if this can be considered an epic fail due to it being RNG based but...

Another noteable fail of mine was in Rayman Origins, at Ticklish Temples, on the Hunter Gatherer level (a moskito level), i was trying to get the 100% of the level (which, i gotta say, was a pain in the ass), in one of my runs i got 349 lums, i had 1 lum missing...ONE. FREAKING. LUM. MISSING...the way i wanted to keep myself safe in that moment...
All that only to feel like a clown after realizing i was missing a skull coin all the time, but, HEY, i least i got the 100% of the level, haha...
