Re: Off Topic
Yeah I suppose it makes sense in that case as well. As much as I do kind of enjoy watching them sometimes, when I'm just indoors and keep hearing loud explosions, it's just more annoying.

I don't particularly enjoy sudden loud noises so it's pretty unpleasant, but I've gotten a lot better at handling it.
Still much prefer the visuals over the racket though.

Same here, seeing the colours when they fire those rockets into the sky is nice. I hate the sudden unexpected sounds enough to be very uncomfortable though when indoors. I'd even mentioned having an issue with balloons before for the the same reason, unexpected sounds.

Agreed, i think this is partially why I wish we switched to laser and drone light shows instead. They're a lot less harsh on the ears.
... Plus they look way cooler xD

Re: Off Topic
I wondered if I was more sensitive to sound than some people since a lot of them don’t seem to mind.

Re: Off Topic
RPC feels dead, so I'm gonna geek out because I am also super ready to start collecting Jurassic Park merchandise.
I've been browsing the internet for JP (ones released in the 2000's) and JW (Dominion line) toys and it's a goldmine.
A while back on Etsy I saw someone was selling a Compstegnathus figuringe
The Etsy seller believes it's a rare Velociraptor toy, but it isn't the same species. The shape of the snout and body does look right for it but it's a Compy hybrid. As a JP fan and dino enthusiast that's now on my list of rare collectibles I want to get my hands on. First I'll start with the backpack
And speaking of rare toys; I think I still have this small T-rex figure that was part of the Robert Muldoon set from the original '93 toyline but was sold separately. I bought it at a flea market many years ago.

I blame school and work!
Re: Off Topic
Unrelated : I am very well able to browse RPC at work. It's easy as long as you do not care.

I just turn off the school blocker and look at whatever I want on my crummy chromebook, since they forgot to block a website that just lets you turn it off lol

I have no qualms about browsing RPC at the office as long as I actually get my work done. I even think that the breaks make me more productive.

I remember my friend saw me on RaymanPC one time and said “what’s that yellow and green thing you’re always on?”

Did you panic and say it was porn?

Would’ve only worked if Hunch made the forum colours orange and black!
Reminds me of how my mum caught me reading one of Steo’s posts in the politics thread, and I claimed it was just a WhatsApp message from my friend. She just responded “he sure has a lot to say!”

That sounds like a funny name for the place. “I’m going to check out that yellow and green thing!”Greengoop wrote: Sat Nov 08, 2025 8:16 am I remember my friend saw me on RaymanPC one time and said “what’s that yellow and green thing you’re always on?”![]()

Does this mean you wouldn't want to watch movies at reference volume on my home theater system then?Master wrote: Sat Nov 01, 2025 2:36 am I don't particularly enjoy sudden loud noises so it's pretty unpleasant, but I've gotten a lot better at handling it.

Re: Off Topic
Difference between sudden loud explosions and consistent sounds, I have my headphones at highest allowable volume (before you get warned about ear damage). I don't mind loud, but I don't like sudden.
